Christmas Pines One Sheet Wonder -Triangle Treat Box

The Triangle Treat Box is the project for day 9 of the Chrismas Pines One Sheet Wonder.  This gorgeous little treat box was designed by Amanda Charlesworth and you can find a great video tutorial by Julie DiMatteo on how to make it here.

I only put the Designer Series Paper on the outside of the box with the small magnets being put in place before the Designer Series Paper is adhered in place.

You will need to cut the following pieces of Designer Series Paper

  • 1 piece 2 3/4" x 1 1/2"
  • 2 pieces 2 3/4" x 2 1/4"
  • 1 piece 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Note that the top panel of the box and the Designer Series Paper piece have had the corners rounded.

Die cut the Fern using Mossy Meadow cardstock, the Leaves using Old Olive cardstock and the small foliage using Gold Glimmer Paper.

Stamp the "May the Simple Joys of the Season Be Yours" on a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark ink, add White Embossing Powder and heat set.  Cut out using the 2nd smallest Oval in the Stitched Shaped Framelits.

Layer the leaves and foliage on the top panel of the box, add a piece of Gold Sequin Trim and place the sentiment oval on top using dimensionals.

Christmas Pines One Sheet Wonder - Hexagon Box

I have seen several of these little gift boxes on Pinterest but I am not sure who first designed it, so whomever did you thank you very much.  The one that I found was made from a piece of 4 1/2 by 6" piece of Designer Series Paper with the finished box being quite small.

I re-designed the box making it larger so that base of the box is 2 1/4" with the height being 2".  It fits 5 small round soaps perfectly or you can put in 6 wrapped toffees, or a piece of jewellery or money.

Cut a piece of  Cherry Cobbler cardstock 8” x 5” (you will get 2 boxes from one piece of A4 cardstock).

Score on the 8” edge at 1 ¼”, 2 ½”, 3 ¾”, 5”, 6 ¼” & 7 ½”
Score on the 5” edge at 1 ½” & 3 ½”

Measure 5/8” between each 1 ¼” panel (this is the centre point) and score from this point on the diagonal to where the first horizontal score line meets the vertical score lines (see picture below).

Snip the vertical score lines from the bottom to the bottom horizontal score line (see picture).

Cut away the small corner (this is at the bottom of the ½” strip on the edge) this is not required (see picture).

Fold and burnish all the score lines.

Cut 6 pieces of 1 1/8” x 1 7/8” DSP and adhere these to the box sides.

Join the sides of the box together and make sure that the diagonal folds on the top are burnished.

Punch a hole in each diagonal flap using the 1/8" handheld circle punch.  This is for the Baker's Twine.

Join the bottom of the box together.

Cut two pieces of Baker's Twine, one Cherry Cobbler an one Very Vanilla, about 18" long. Thread the Baker's Twine through the holes, add your soap or toffees and close the top of the box with a bow.   Tie a knot in each end of the Baker's Twine.

To decorate die cut the Fern using Mossy Meadow cardstock, the Leaves using Old Olive cardstock and the small foliage using Gold Glimmer Paper.

Stamp the "May the Simple Joys of the Season Be Yours" on a piece of Basic Black cardstock using Versamark ink, add White Embossing Powder and heat set.  Cut out using the 2nd smallest Oval in the Stitched Shaped Framelits.

Layer the leaves and foliage on the box front before placing the sentiment oval on top.

Christmas Pines One Sheet Wonder - Cards 1 & 2

This One Sheet Wonder idea all started with the card that I made for my Simple Joys of Christmas post which you can see here

I had several sheets of this striped patterned paper from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper pack which I was having trouble using.  So I set my self a challenge to make a One Sheet Wonder using this paper.

To challenge myself even further (Can you tell that I like a challenge?) I decided to only use the Christmas Pines Stamp Set and the Pretty Pines Thinlits.  I had a bit of think about what other supplies I would need and I included the Detailed Trio Punch, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch, Subtle  and the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folders along with  Stitched Shaped Framelits, Layering Squares Framletis, Layering Circle Framelits and Layering Oval Framelits as I use these framelits a lot for sentiments and creating designs.  I found that I did not use the Layering Oval Framelits.

I did not limit myself to what cardstock, Glimmer Paper, Foil Sheet, ribbons, trims and embellishments I would use.  I just went to my stash when I was designing and gathered what I needed.

I made 7 cards, 2 gift card holders, 2 gift boxes and 3 tags using the one piece of Designer Series Paper.

I have included the cutting layout for the Designer Series Paper.  I did it in inches as this was easier.

Over the next 10 days I will post each project with the cutting measurements and how I made each project.

Cards 1 & 2

The layout for these two cards is the same. The designer series paper is cut in a 2" by 6" inch piece.   You will need to trim the excess paper off the end as it is slightly longer than needed.  I find that if I try and measure it to size I always cut it slightly smaller than I want, so I now just trim it off after I have adhered it to my card front.

For Card 1 you will need a Cherry Cobbler cardbase, adhere the piece of striped Designer Series Paper to the card front about 3/4' from the top and trim off the excess. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 2" x 4 3/4", round the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch and emboss this using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Adhere this to the card front using dimensionals.

Layer the leaves and foliage on the piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and add a piece of Gold 1/8" Cord (do not tie this in a bow, just layer it on using double sided tape before placing the sentiment oval on top.  Add a few Gold Metallic Pearls to finish the panel.

For the inside of the card stamp the word "Christmas Blessing" on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Momento Black ink.

For Card 2 you will need a Cherry Cobbler cardbase, adhere the piece of striped Designer Series Paper to the card front about 3/4' from the top and trim off the excess. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 2" x 4 3/4", round the corners using the Detailed Trio Punch.  Stamp the "Season of Joy" sentiment on the bottom of this piece using Momento Black ink, making sure that it is slightly to the left side to allow room for the Pine Cone display.  Adhere this to the card front using dimensionals.

Cut the Fern using Mossy Meadow cardstock, the Leaves using Old Olive cardstock and the Foliage using Gold Glimmer Paper,  The Pine Cones were made using Crumb Cake and Early Espresso cardstock with the 2 bows cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and layered together.

Arrange the Pine Cone display how you like and add Gold Metallic Pearls around the Fern and Leaves and a Gold Faceted Gem to the bow centre.

For the inside of the card stamp the "Tidings of Comfort and Joy" image using Momento Black ink in the centre of a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.

Wedded Bliss

This is another wedding card I made using a colour scheme of Gold, Basic Black and Whisper White.

The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, stamped in Black Momento ink on Whisper White.  This was cut out using a circle from the the Stitched Shaped Framelits.  The flowers are from the Floral Frames Stamp set stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold.  The frame and foliage was made using the Foliage Frame Framelits with Gold Foil Sheet and Basic Black cardstock.

Happy Wedding Day

I made this card for my brother and sister-in-law to give to a friend for a recent wedding that they were invited to.  I don't tend to make a lot of wedding cards but I really enjoyed creating this one using one of my favourite card sketches.

I have used a piece of Frosted Florals Specialty Designer Series Paper with a colour of scheme of Gray Granite, Powder Pink and Whisper White.

The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set that was stamped using Powder Pink ink.

The framelits I used are the Frosted Bouquet and Stitched Labels. A few Clear Rhinestone Jewels were added for a bit of bling.  What is a wedding card without a bit of bling, right!

Congratulations

Hi everyone, sharing a Congratulations card I made using one of my favourite colours. Merry Merlot. I have used a piece of the striped Merry Merlot pattern paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper along with the stamp sets First Frost and Healing Hugs.

I did a bit of fussy cutting on the rose and leaves.  I stamped the rose image using Merry Merlot ink on Whisper White cardstock and the leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow on Whisper White cardstock before cutting them out.  I have layered these on my card front with some foliage and leaves created using the Foliage Frame Framelits and the Frosted Bouquet Framelits.

The 'Congratulations' sentiment is from the First Frost stamp set.  I stamped this with Black Momento Ink.

The decorate lace edge behind the flower panel was made using the Delicate Lace Edgelits.  A Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon bow was added to finish my card.

Simple Joys of Christmas

This is a project I designed for a Stamp Camp held by my beautiful friend Pat Carr.  I was not able to attend this year, but I made this card at our stamp retreat at Dwellingup in late September and offerred to kit it up for Pat.  Hopefully the ladies enjoyed making it.

This is the same card sketch that I have used before.  You get 12 cards from a 12" x 12" piece of patterned paper as you cut the paper into 2" strips.

The stamp set is Christmas Pines with the foliage and leaves being cut using the Pretty Pines Thinits.  The striped patterned paper is from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.   The panel behind the centre spray has been embossed using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I was having a bit of trouble using the Cherry Cobbler stripe patterned paper in the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper Pack.  This is the card that I finally settled on using the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set and matching Farmhouse Framelits.

The colour scheme is Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White and Basic Black.

Christmas Tree

This card is very quick and easy to make.  It uses the Lovely As A Tree stamp set which was stamped in Mossy Meadow.

The patterned paper is from the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper pack.  Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the tree for decoration.

If you were wanting to do some stamping and creating with kids, this would be a perfect card.  You can have all the bits cut to size and they can do some simple stamping, sticking and decorating with a few Red Rhinestones and they are done.

Merry Christmas

This card is great to use the small strips and left over pieces of patterned paper.  I cased the design from Pinterest

I love the layout and thought that it was a perfect card to use the Merry Christmas Thinlits on.

I cut out the word "Christmas" once using the patterned paper and then once using Early Espresso cardstock.  I used the Mutipurpose Adhesive Sheets as I found it easier to adhere the two layers of the die cut word "Christmas" together.  The patterned paper is from the Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper pack.

The word "Merry" is from the Merry Christmas To All stamp set which is stamped in Early Espresso.  Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to finish.

Farmhouse Christmas

The inspiration for this card came from page 12 of the 2018 Holiday Catalogue.

The images were stamped on Shimmery White cardstock before colouring with Watercolor Pencils and an Aquapainter and then cut out using the Farmhouse Framelits.   The patterned paper is from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.

Did you notice the corrugated piece behind centre panel.  Was was made using the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Powder, Crumb Cake cardstock and White Craft Ink.

I was on a roll, enjoying colouring the house and tree so I made another card along similar lines.
