Sepia Tones

Hi everyone, what do you think of when you see the words 'Sepia Tones'?  The challenge this week at TGIF Challenges is 'Playing With Sepia Tones'.

I immediately thought of all things vintage, old photos and a distressed style card.  I did start out making a vintage style card, inking up the edges after distressing them.  But I eventually went with a clean look for my card as I liked this finished look better.

I have used the Healing Hugs stamp set, stamping the flowers and leaves using Soft Suede ink before doing a little fussy cutting.  Did I hear a few groans? These flowers and leaves are perfect for fussy cutting and it gives great dimension to the card.

I stamped the background with the foliage and open leaf images using Soft Suede and Early Espresso ink before adhering the leaves and flowers using dimensionals.

A small strip of Crumb Cake Designer Series Paper was adhered to the bottom of the Soft Suede card base before the stamped panel was adhered in place.

A few gold sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment were added to finish the card.

Thank you for visiting.

Tuesday Challenge #8

Hi everyone, it is the 8th week of my 'Tuesday Challenge' to use a stamp set and other goodies from the Annual Catalogue to create a card or other project.

For this week's cards I have used the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper (I am going to call this Laser-cut paper for the rest of this post) and stamp sets 'Healing Hugs', 'Itty Bitty Greetings', 'Painted Harvest' and 'Beautiful Bouquet'.

The flowers were stamped with Lovely Lipstick ink, using 1st and 2nd generation stamping, These were then fussy cut.  One set of the leaves were stamped with Olive Olive and Mossy Meadow before being punched out with the Leaf punch.  The other set of leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow before being fussy cut.

I used one of the pieces from the Laser-cut paper that was already framed for the Crumb Cake card and for the Basic Black card I created a stitched rectangle border using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits before adhering to a piece of the Laser-cut paper that was matted onto a piece of Crumb Cake.

To finish the cards I arranged the flowers and leaves and sentiments on top of the Laser-cut paper.  For the inside of the card I stamped some Mossy Meadow leaves on a piece of Whisper White before adhering in place.

Mother's Day Cards in February - What is Going On?

What is going on? I was recently asked by a work colleague to make some Mother's Day cards for a relative of hers who is visiting from England so that she could take them home with her.

My post yesterday was one of the cards that is going back to England and this is the other card that will also be going along for the ride.

I have used a colour scheme of Merry Merlot, Whisper White and Mossy Meadow.

The rose is from the Healing Hugs stamp set which I fussy cut after stamping, the leaves are also from this set.  The foliage behind the rose is from the Foliage Frame Framelits which were cut from Mossy Meadow cardstock and Vellum.

Like the lace edge behind the centre panel? This was made using the Delicate Lace Edgelits and Merry Merlot cardstock.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Neutrals Paper Stack.

The 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.  I added a Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon bow and some Rhinestones to finish my card.

Congratulations

Hi everyone, sharing a Congratulations card I made using one of my favourite colours. Merry Merlot. I have used a piece of the striped Merry Merlot pattern paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper along with the stamp sets First Frost and Healing Hugs.

I did a bit of fussy cutting on the rose and leaves.  I stamped the rose image using Merry Merlot ink on Whisper White cardstock and the leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow on Whisper White cardstock before cutting them out.  I have layered these on my card front with some foliage and leaves created using the Foliage Frame Framelits and the Frosted Bouquet Framelits.

The 'Congratulations' sentiment is from the First Frost stamp set.  I stamped this with Black Momento Ink.

The decorate lace edge behind the flower panel was made using the Delicate Lace Edgelits.  A Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon bow was added to finish my card.
