Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peaks...

Hi everyone, I have been playing this afternoon with some of the products available in the new Holiday Catalogue from 1 September 2015.

My first project is using the new Silver Corded Trim and the stamp set Cozy Christmas.  The DSP is from Merry Moments which is available in the Annual Catalogue.  I have used several packs of this DSP but found that I was left with several sheets of the same design.  So I set about designing a little Baker's Box for Christmas, using the DSP sheets that I have a collection of.    I have also used the Baker's Box Thinlits Dies, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White Cardstock, Cherry Cobbler Thick Bakers Twine, Silver Foil Sheets and the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.

My second project is using the Curvy Corner Trio Punch and Gold Corded Trim from the new Holiday Catalogue. The other items that I have used are all available in the Annual Catalogue - stamp sets Kinda Eclectic, Flower Shop, Petite Petals and Beautiful Bunch along with the coordinating punches Fun Flower, Petite Petals and Pansy, Pearls, Metallics Sequin Assortment and reinkers Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake. The centre panel is on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Just Playing Around

I was just playing around making some flowers and trying out different ideas.  This is my finished card.

Thanks with flowers...

The colour scheme and stamps sets for my card were inspired by the Week 11 One Sheet Wonder video by Ruth Trice. I have used the sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches for my card.
The stamp sets used are Flower Shop, Gorgeous Grunge and Kinda Eclectic with a colour scheme of Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake.  I have used one of the wooden elements from the Expressions Natural Elements pack and finished with some silver rimmed pearls and silver metallic thread.

A Happy Blooming Birthday...

The challenge at The Card Concept is based on this inspirational photo.
Not too sure what category my card fits into "Shabby Chic" or "Classy & Elegant", probably trending more to the "Shabby Chic" category.  I had fun making this card using the emboss resist technique stamping the leaf image in Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and embossing with White Embossing Powder.  I then stamped the "Hardwood" background stamp with the new Tip Top Taupe ink over the top of the white embossed leaf image and sponged on Tip Top Taupe all over this piece.  The white embossed leaves popped from the background when I wiped off the excess ink.

The middle of the card was made using the Oval Framelits and the flowers were made using the "Flower Patch" stamp set and the coordinating die, with the leaves from the "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set which I fussy cut.  I used ink colours of Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral.

Mojo #355

Hi everyone, I would like to share my card with you that I have made for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday this week.
I really liked the vintage look that I used in my picture frames from yesterday, so I have used the same colours for my card.

I inked and stamped the Typeset DPS with Lost Lagoon and Baked Brown Sugar using the "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set.  The sentiment is from the "And Many More" stamp set and a butterfly has been added from the "Papillon Potpourri" stamp set.  The pearls for the flower centres were coloured using the bronze blendability from the skin tone set.

Vintage Typeset

I have been getting back into scrapbooking (my first love before I got into card making).  I made these 3 picture frames to hang on my wall, and as the photographs are of my grand parents and great grand mother and great uncle I wanted to give the frames a vintage feel.

I purchased the 6" x 6" scrapbooking frames from Spotlight.  They are raw wood so I made a distress wash of Baked Brown Sugar with 5 drops of reinker with a little water to distress them with.  Once this colour was dried I found is was not quite the colour that I was after, so I made another distress wash with Early Espresso and painted this over the Baked Brown Sugar.  This is the colour that I was happy with for my frames, it ended up like a Walnut Stain finish.

I used the Typeset Specialty DSP to cover all the frames.

For the first frame I randomly sponged on some Lost Lagoon and then stamped the leaf stamp from the Kinda Electic stamps set in Baked Brown Sugar.  All the edges were inked with Baked Brown Sugar.

For the second frame I sponged Lost Lagoon on a piece of Basic Black Neutrals Paper Stack DSP for the background.  Again all the edges were inked with Baked Brown Sugar.

For the third frame I stamped butterflies from the Papillion Potpourri stamp set in Baked Brown Sugar over the Typeset DSP.  The background piece had the leaf stamp from the Kinda Eclectic stamp set stamped randomly with Lost Lagoon.
