Frame It

The challenge at The Paper Players is a clean and simple challenge featuring "Frames"

The frame concept is terrific.  I ended up making two cards and had difficulty in deciding which one to enter.  I went with Card One.

Card one I used a colour scheme of Whisper White, Basic Black and Tip Top Taupe.  Stamps sets Awesomely Artistic, Watercolor Wings with the sentiment from And Many More.

My second card is made using the Flower Patch stamp set and matching dies.

A Happy Blooming Birthday...

The challenge at The Card Concept is based on this inspirational photo.
Not too sure what category my card fits into "Shabby Chic" or "Classy & Elegant", probably trending more to the "Shabby Chic" category.  I had fun making this card using the emboss resist technique stamping the leaf image in Versamark on Whisper White cardstock and embossing with White Embossing Powder.  I then stamped the "Hardwood" background stamp with the new Tip Top Taupe ink over the top of the white embossed leaf image and sponged on Tip Top Taupe all over this piece.  The white embossed leaves popped from the background when I wiped off the excess ink.

The middle of the card was made using the Oval Framelits and the flowers were made using the "Flower Patch" stamp set and the coordinating die, with the leaves from the "Kinda Eclectic" stamp set which I fussy cut.  I used ink colours of Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral.

Nobody Loves Like A Mum

The challenge this week at the Colour Throwdown is a colour challenge, Lilac, Amethyst, Green and Cream and an inspiration photo.  The colours are generic and any hues can be used along with neutrals.

I have used the stamp sets Mum's Love and Flower Patch along with the Flower Fair Framelits Dies.  The flowers were made using the rock 'n' roll technique with the colours Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder.

Flowers, Flowers and more Flowers ....

Hi everyone, this is another card made with this weeks favourite colour scheme of Early Espresso, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate and Whisper White.   It was inspired by a piece of Wall Art I saw in recently saw in a magazine, I loved the colour scheme and all the flowers.  The Wall Art piece was made with non Stampin' Up products, but I adapted what I had to create my card.

Vintage Embossed Vellum

Hi everyone, I would like to share a card with you that I made, inspired by a card Julee Tilman made by embossing vellum and inking it to give it a vintage feel.  I loved the look of the embossed vellum over the DSP to give it hint of colour behind.  I have put the instructions below on how I made this card.

EMBVELL

Supplies

Stampin’ Up “Flower Patch” and “And Many More” Stamp Sets
Classic Stampin’ Ink Pads – Pool Party, Island Indigo, Baked Brown Sugar and Memento Black
Cardstock – Naturals White, Basic Black, Pool Party
DSP – Subtles Paper Pack and Flashback Paper Stack
Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Decorative Label Punch
Flower Fair Framelits Dies
Pearls Basic Jewels
Basic Black Candy Dots from the Neutrals Pack
Linen Thread
Basic Black Chevron Ribbon
Bigshot
Distressing Tool
Double sided tape
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Sponges

Measurements

Cut a piece of A4 Naturals White Cardstock in half lengthwise
Cut 2 pieces of Basic Black Cardstock 10cm x 14.3cm (1 for inside of card)
Cut 1 piece of Naturals White Cardstock 9.5cn x 13.8cm (for inside of card)
Cut a piece of Pool Party DSP from the Subtles paper pack 9.5cm x 13.8cm
Cut a piece of Vellum 9.5cm x 13.8cm
Cut a piece of Basic Black Cardstock 6.4cm x 8.9cm
Cut a piece of Pool Party DSP from “Flashback” paper stack 5.9cm x 8.4cm
Cut a piece of Naturals White Cardstock 5cm x 14cm for leaves
Cut a piece of Pool Party Cardstock 6cm x 6cm for flower
Cut a piece of Naturals White 5cm x 9cm for sentiment

Technique

Fold the piece of Naturals White Cardstock in half to create the card base.

Distress all the edges of the DSP and Cardstock pieces apart from those pieces for the flower, leaves and sentiment.  Sponge all edges with Baked Brown Sugar ink.

Put the piece of Vellum in the Argyle Embossing Folder and put it through the Bigshot.  Adhere this to the piece of Pool Party DSP 9.5cm x 138cm with some double sided tape, the DSP should now be completely cover with the colour reflecting slightly through the Vellum. You only need to put the tape in the corners and a small piece half way on the sides.  Adhere this to the Basic Black Cardstock mat and then lightly sponge Baked Brown Sugar on the embossed vellum to give it an aged look, go lightly with the sponging.  Create two folds in the Basic Black Chevron Ribbon on one end and also create a flag end on the ribbon.  Adhere this to the embossed Vellum and Basic Black Cardstock piece about 3cm up from bottom of this piece.  Adhere this to the card front.

Adhere the distressed DSP from the Flashback Paper Pack onto the Basic Black mat.  Stamp the sentiment in Black onto the Naturals White Cardstock and punch out using the Decorative Labels punch.  Adhere to the top right corner of the panel piece, making sure that it is behind the panel with only the sentiment showing (you do not want the entire punched piece showing).  Adhere this to the Vellum card front over the Chevron Ribbon.

Stamp the flower image in Pool Party on Pool Party Cardstock and then stamp the flower centre in Island Indigo.  Stamp the leaves in Memento Black on Naturals White Cardstock.  Cut out using the Flower Fair Framelits.  Ink edges with Baked Brown Sugar.   Make a bow with the Linen Thread.  Position the leaves, Linen Thread bow and flower on the small panel.  Add three Basic Black Candy Dots to the top right of the card and a Pearl to the flower centre.

Inside of card – mat the Naturals Ivory (make sure edges have been inked with Baked Brown Sugar) onto the Basic Black.  Adhere to inside of card.  You can decorate with a strip of DSP or by making another flower.

All Abloom

Hi everyone, I have been missing in action for a couple of weeks as it was the end-of-financial year at work and I was a little bit busy, so had no time to get my hands into paper and ink.  I had a lovely day today catching up with some of the ideas that I had, to use some of the terrific new products in the new Annual Catalogue.  I completed 3 cards and 3 picture frames (these will be in a separate post).

I made a set of cards using the All Abloom DSP Paper Stack, the Flower Patch stamp set and the matching Flower Fair Framelits dies along with the new Kraft cardstock and the Large Polka Dot Textured embossing folder.  I inked all the edges with Crumb Cake and also lightly sponged Crumb Cake across the Large Polka Dot embossed piece of Kraft cardstock.  The base cards are made from the Naturals White cardstock.

Happy Blooming Birthday

Hi everyone, I would like to share my card with you that I created for the Mojo Monday Challenge based on this terrific sketch.
I have use some new products from the Annual Catalogue with a colour scheme of Baked Brown Sugar, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana.  The flowers and sentiment are from the "Flower Patch" stamp set with the matching "Flower Fair" Framelits Dies.  The DSP is from the "Lullaby" paper pack.  To finish off I added some sequins from the 2013-2015 In-Colour Sequin Assortment embellishments.
