Embossed Foil

Hi everyone, in late October I attended a Stamp Camp held by a good friend of mine where I was shown how to do this technique of embossing foil and adding Copper & Gold Embossing Powder along with some Black Stazon ink.

I have used a Kraft card base with a piece of Basic Black cardstock layered on top.  A little Copper Embossing was added to the background of the card, with a silver doily and some silver stars added in keeping with the metallic theme.

Pop of Pink

Hi Everyone, I attended the OnStage Live event in Brisbane last week where the new products in the new Occasions Catalogue coming on 4 January 2017 were unvailed.  There are some amazing goodies coming our way in the New Year.

As part of the event you get the opportunity (if you wish) to swap cards or projects with other Demonstrators.  This is one of the swaps that I made using the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper.

The stamp sets used are Crazy About You and Circle of Spring. The flower was made using the Flower Medallion, Petite Petals and 1/2" Circle Punches.

You can get all the supplies you need for this project from me.

You Rock

Hi everyone, you know when you start off with an idea for a card and what you finish up with is nothing like the idea you started with. This is what happened to me when I started out designing cards for this months classes.

I had a completely different idea for the stamped background and what I was going to make, it just evolved into a card great for the boys and men in our lives.

The guitar is from the Country Livin' stamp set (watercoloured with Soft Suede), the sentiment from Crazy About You and the background is stamped using the Timeless Textures stamp set.  Colour scheme of Early Espresso, Delightful Dijon, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.

Mr Fox

Hi everyone, I held a fundraiser today for Junior Diabetes Research which was a huge success.  We had an amazing day with 33 ladies stamping, chatting, laughing, a bit more stamping (they had 9 projects to make) and eating some amazing cupcakes made by a friend who donated them for us to enjoy.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be sharing with you the projects that we made.

Mr Fox is one of my favourites made with the Foxy Friends stamp set, Fox Builder Punch and A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack.

A Touch of Copper

Hi everyone, technique card today using waxed lunch wrap.  This Waxed Resist technique is fun to do with an embossing folder, waxed lunch wrap, Bigshot, iron, Whisper White cardstock, ink and a sponge.

I had forgotten all about this technique, but at a recent Stamp Camp we made a card using this technique.  This is a card that I have designed for my June Class.

Cut a piece of waxed lunch wrap a little larger than your card front. Put this in the embossing folder of your choice, I used "Lovely Lace", and run it through the Bigshot.  Carefully remove the embossed wax lunch wrap and sandwich between two pieces of Whisper White cardstock cut to size for your card front.  Sandwich this between copy paper and using a hot iron (without steam) iron over the sandwich that you have just created until the wax has melted and transferred to the cardstock.  You will get a positive piece and a negative piece of waxed Whisper White, so you can make two cards or keep a piece for later use.  Sponge ink of your choice over the Whisper White cardstock and the design will appear resisting the ink where the wax has transferred.  I used Crumb Cake on my card.

I heat embossed Copper on Whisper White for the flowers from the "Grateful Bunch" stamp set and then coloured them using Peekaboo Peach ink and the Wink of Stella pen.  The matching "Blossom Bunch" punch was used to cut them out.

The stem was heat embossed with Copper on Early Espresso cardstock and fussy cut out.  The sentiment from the "Crazy About You" stamp set was also heat embossed with Copper on Early Espresso cardstock and hand cut out.   The card base is Crumb Cake with a mat of Peekaboo Peach.

Sneak Peak - Display Board Samples for Sydney On Stage Local

Hi everyone, as promised I am sharing the cards and projects that I made for the display boards at the Sydney On Stage Local event.

I received a new stamp set, inks, cardstock, ribbon (love this new ribbon) and designer series paper from Stampin' Up! which I had to use along with any other carrying over stamp sets and products.  I was requested to stamp in the 2015-17 In Colors, making four samples each of the five colours.

I made three cards and one Project Life filler card for my samples.

Cucumber Crush

Mint Macaron

Tip Top Taupe

Delightful Dijon

Watermelon Wonder

Hope you enjoyed this little sneak peak.

Garden in Bloom

I was lucky enough to be chosen to stamp for the display boards at the Sydney On Stage Local event which was held yesterday. I had a really great day and enjoyed seeing all the new products coming our way on 1 June. I can't show you anything until after Tuesday but you will not be disappointed in the new products.  I have been going through my catalogue today (I have just about worn the cover off) making my wish list.

While I was creating my samples for the display boards I found that I was using the Garden in Bloom stamp set a lot.

I have created several samples using the stamp set to show how versatile it is.  You can create something pretty and neutral or something bright and bold.

The first card uses a colour scheme of Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Tip Top Taupe and Whisper White.  The background is made using the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper which I misted with a mix if Marina Mist and Isocol Rubbing Alcohol.

The second card is similar to the first card, just using a colour scheme of Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.  Again the background is made using the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper which I misted with a mix if Blushing Bride and Isocol Rubbing Alochol.

The third card is a take of one that I did for the display boards, however I did not use the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I sponged Delightful Dijon on the striped piece of paper and added a strip of Basic Black dotted Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals Paper Stack.  The colour scheme is Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Basic Black, Cucumber Crush and Whisper White.

The fourth card is one I made for the display boards at Sydney but decided not to include it in my samples.  It uses a colour scheme of Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe, Cucumber Crush, Whisper White and Delightful Dijon.

Pretty Quartet ...

Hi everyone, sharing a pretty quartet of cards.  I have been playing this afternoon with the Hello You Thinlits.  I started off by just making one card and as I was stamping, sponging and sticking I had the idea to use the same card layout but change the words to use each of the thinlits, and before I knew it I had four cards.

Cardstock used is Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, Watermelon Wonder and Old Olive.  The background was made by inking the Brick Wall embossing folder with Whisper White Craft ink and embossing a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock.

The stamp sets used are Crazy About You, Bloomin' Love and Botanical Blooms.  The sentiments were stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto banners that were made by cutting strips of Crumb Cake cardstock 1.5cm and making the flag ends using the Banner Punch. The tag was made using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch with Very Vanilla Thick Bakers Twine added to the top of each tag. The flowers were made using the Botanical Builder Framelits, with the Old Olive leaf stamped with the matching image in the Botanical Blooms stamp set.  All pieces were inked on the edges with Whisper White Craft ink, including the flowers, leaves and flower centres.

It is nearly Easter..

Hi everyone, sharing my finished Easter Egg gift bags that I made for my colleagues at work.  Easter is nearly here and I thought that I had better get these finished as I had to make 28 of these little bunnies for everyone.  The boys get the dots and the girls get the flowers.

I used Chocolate Chip as the base colour for my bags as the Easter Eggs are chocolate (logical I thought) and it also coordinated with the Blushing Bride in the ears of the bunnies.   I used the Gift Bag Punch Board to make the bags and the Chocolate Chip Designer Series Paper is from the Neutrals Paper Stack.

The bunnies were made using the Friends & Flowers stamp set and the matching Festive Flower Builder Punch and the 1 3/8" circle punch.

The "Happy Easter" tag was made using the Tags and Labels Framelits, Gold Foil Sheet, Whisper White cardstock and the stamp set Crazy About You.

A bit of gold was added by way of Gold Sequin Trim, Mini Gold Metallic Peg and the new Gold Glitter Tape which you can get free as part of Sale-A-Bration.   All you have to do is put in a qualifying order of $90 and you can get it free.

A Little Gift of Cards ...

I am sharing a project with you today that a learnt how to make at a Stamp Camp that I attended last September.   I have remade the project using some of the latest stamps and framelits, it is a card holder for 4 cards made using the Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes.

Does it look familiar, it should I cased myself from a card I recently posted here.

The stamp sets used on my project are Writing Notes, Timeless Textures, Grateful Bunch, Crazy About You, And Many More and Picture Perfect.  Colour scheme of Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White and Rose Red.  The flowers were cut from Rose Red patterned paper from the Love Bossoms Designer Series Paper Stack using the Botanical Builder Framelits.

Create the folder front and before you adhere it down make sure that you have put your ribbon around the cover so that you can tie a bow on the side to keep it closed.  I used about 26" of ribbon, this allows you to tie the bow easily.

To create the cover just score a piece of A4 cardstock in half portrait and then in half landscape.  Fold and burnish all the score lines.  Using your Stampin' Trimmer cut on the diagonal  on two sides from the centre score line to the edge of the middle score line to create the pockets for the card.  There is no adhesive required, it just folds up into a little booklet.

I made the 4 cards all the same, just changing up the sentiment to Thanks, Just A Note, Celebrate and Happy Birthday.  I thought that this would cover a lot of occasions where these cute little cards would be appropriate.

This project was actually quite quick to make as I made the cards all the same just changing the sentiment.  Also Stampin' Up make it so easy with the Note Cards and Envelopes already made for us.

Cucumber Crush ...

Have you ever had a stack of paper and cardstock that you just could not get into?  This has happened to me with the new In-colour Cucumber Crush.  The colour is so vibrant and is not usually one that I pick when creating.  I decided today to get right out of my comfort zone and this is what the end result is.

The card was made using Cucumber Crush from the 2016-17 In-color Designer Series Paper pack, the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper, Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp sets used are Back to Basics Alphabet and Crazy About You along with 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches with some stars from the Metallics Sequin Assortment Pack and Basic Black Stitched Satin Ribbon.

I made a matching long triangle box from the tutorial by Sam Donald which I adapted to fit a small Toblerone chocolate bar.  The shape of the box just said "Toblerone" however it did not fit so a few small adjustments were needed, voila!

Glittering Dragonflies ...

Hi everyone, just sharing my card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

My card is not quite like the sketch, but I wanted to try out the sponging and dragonflies that Cynthia Millan show cased on her three window card, so I took a little artistic licence.  Cynthia made a beautiful one layered card, my card has more layers and embellishments and the layout is completely different, but I did case the dragonflies in the squares from Cynthia.

A Happy Birthday with flowers

It is circles time at Pals Paper Arts this week with the challenge based on this sketch.

07-23 PPA 261

I used the English Garden Designer Series Paper on my card.  I have been trying to make better use of my DSP as I find that I buy the pack (as I just have to have it) and then do not use it.  So my challenge to myself is to use more of the beautiful papers that I have collecting.  They look much better made up into a card instead of sitting in my storage boxes.

Can You Case It

The challenge this week at Can You Case It is to use any combination of the 2015-17 In-colours along with Neturals.  For my card I have used Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush along with Basic Black and Whisper White.
