Tuesday Challenge #5

Hi everyone, it is the 5th week of my 'Tuesday Challenge' to use a stamp set and other goodies from the Annual Catalogue to create a card or other project.

I have used the 'Touches of Texture' stamp set for the flower image and the sentiment is from the 'Itty Bitty Greetings' stamp set.

The image was coloured using ink pads and a blender pen.  The blender pen gives a great colour contrast on the petals as the more you colour the lighter the colour becomes.  It is a quick and fun way to colour your images.

If you live in Australia

Garden in Bloom

I was lucky enough to be chosen to stamp for the display boards at the Sydney On Stage Local event which was held yesterday. I had a really great day and enjoyed seeing all the new products coming our way on 1 June. I can't show you anything until after Tuesday but you will not be disappointed in the new products.  I have been going through my catalogue today (I have just about worn the cover off) making my wish list.

While I was creating my samples for the display boards I found that I was using the Garden in Bloom stamp set a lot.

I have created several samples using the stamp set to show how versatile it is.  You can create something pretty and neutral or something bright and bold.

The first card uses a colour scheme of Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Tip Top Taupe and Whisper White.  The background is made using the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper which I misted with a mix if Marina Mist and Isocol Rubbing Alcohol.

The second card is similar to the first card, just using a colour scheme of Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.  Again the background is made using the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper which I misted with a mix if Blushing Bride and Isocol Rubbing Alochol.

The third card is a take of one that I did for the display boards, however I did not use the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I sponged Delightful Dijon on the striped piece of paper and added a strip of Basic Black dotted Designer Series Paper from the Neutrals Paper Stack.  The colour scheme is Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, Basic Black, Cucumber Crush and Whisper White.

The fourth card is one I made for the display boards at Sydney but decided not to include it in my samples.  It uses a colour scheme of Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe, Cucumber Crush, Whisper White and Delightful Dijon.

Grateful Bunch Trio

Hi everyone, do you like getting good value for your purchases? Then you should check out the Grateful Bunch Stamp Set and the Blossom Bunch Punch bundle that you can get for $57.75 plus postage and handling.

I have made a trio of cards using this bundle along with the Balloon Celebration and And Many More stamps sets which I used for the sentiments.

I have used a colour scheme of Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Whisper White for all three cards.

The background for this card was made by stamping the large flower in Archival Black ink randomly over a piece of Whisper White cardstock, colouring with the Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker and then going over the flowers with the Clear Wink of Stella pen.  It does not show in the picture but the flowers have a beautiful shimmer.

All the small flowers were stamped with Archival Basic Black ink, coloured with the Sahara Sand Stampin' Write Marker and then Clear Wink of Stella pen added before punching out with the Blossoms Bunch Punch.

Mojo Monday #434

Here I am using the Botanical Builder Framelits again, it is my go to die set at the moment when I want to create a floral spray. I have made my card for the Mojo Monday Challenge  using this sketch.

The pattern paper is from the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper pack with a colour scheme of Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride, Whisper White and Mossy Meadow.

The sentiment is from the stamp set "And Many More" which was stamped with Black Archival Ink and punched out using the Washi Label Punch.  Did you notice that I shortened the label?  You do this by punching the Label out and then feeding it back into the punch on one end and punching again. This is great when you want a shorter sentiment as I did in this design  A few rhinestones were added for a bit of bling to finish.

Blackberry Blossoms ...

Hi everyone, sharing a quick card made using the "Grateful Bunch" stamp set.  It is so quick and easy to make a pretty card using this stamp set and the matching "Blossoms Bunch" punch.

I stamped the three flowers in Blackberry Bliss ink and then applied the Clear Wink of Stella Pen. The colour from the centre of the flowers is picked up on the pen and you end up lightly colouring the petals.  The beautiful glimmer from the pen does not show up in the photo but is creates a lovely finish to the flowers.

Note:  The colour from the ink does not damage the Wink of Stella Pen, you just need to run it back and forth on a piece of scrap paper to clear the colour off the tip of the pen.

Thank you for visiting.

Flowers for Mum

Hi everyone,  I have come to the conclusion that the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies would have to be my favourite item in the Occasions Catalogue.  Sharing another project made using this beautiful die set and the matching stamp set Botanical Blooms.

I wanted a scalloped edge on the top piece and as we do not have any border punches now that do this, I used the scalloped square from the Squares Collection Framelits.  It is amazing when you have a look at the different Framelit Collections how many of them could be used to create an edging.

The top piece of Whisper White was embossed using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder (I was so happy that this was carried over from the Holiday Catalogue).  The Designer Series Paper is from the Go Wild Designers Series Paper Stack which I matted onto a piece of vellum from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack that is in the Sale-A-Brations Catalogue.  This I adhered to the Tip Top Taupe cardbase.  Don't forget that until the 31 March 2015 for every $90 you spend you get to choose an item from the Sale-A-Brations Catalogue for free.

Close up of the flower, the main flower was made using Pink Pirouette cardstock and the centre then sponged with Watermelon Wonder.  The small flowers were made using Watermelon Wonder cardstock and Tip Top Taupe cardstock.  The leaves were cut from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The Old Olive leaf was stamped with the matching stamp from the Botanical Blooms stamp set with Old Olive ink. Metallic Silver Thread was added to the back of the flowers with silver sequins and Rhinestones added for a bit of bling.  The centre of the large flower is an Iced Rhinestone.

The sentiment is from the And Many More stamp set, stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink on Whisper White and punched out using the Word Window Punch.  This was matted onto a Tip Top Taupe Washi Label Punch piece.

If you are interested in placing an order please contact me here.  Don't for get that for every $90 you get an item free from the Sale-A-Brations Catalogue.

Thank you for visiting.

Shine On

It Shines, the new Shine on Specialty Designer Series Paper is printed on kraft paper with silver foil designs on one side, so it has a beautiful shine.

It is perfect for making gift packaging which is how I have used this paper designing a little triangle box perfect for chocolates and lollies (candy or sweets for those not in Australia).

I used the non shine side, as I wanted the Watermelon Wonder print side on the outside of my box to match the beautiful Watermelon Wonder 1" Stitched Satin Ribbon I have used for the bow that holds the box together.

I coordinated the flower in Watermelon Wonder and Old Olive, made using the Friends and Flowers stamp set and the matching Festive Flower Builder Punch.  An Iced Rhinestone was added to the centre of the flower to finish.

These little boxes are so easy to make, cut a piece of card stock in half to create an A5 piece of card.

Score at the centre of the piece of card in the portrait position.  Then find the centre across the top and the bottom (mark these points with a small pencil mark). Score from these marks to the centre score line on the diagonal (as shown in the picture above, you will have to excuse my drawing skills as I was slightly out in my diagram but you get the drift).  Fold and burnish all the score lines and fold up into the triangle box shape.  Take the 1/4" handheld circle punch and with the triangle sides together punch a small hole through both layers on each side, thread the ribbon through and tie into a bow to close the box.  You can decorate these little boxes anyway you like, I made some last year for Christmas so they can suit any occasion, I am thinking maybe Easter this year.

Thank you for visting.

A Little Gift of Cards ...

I am sharing a project with you today that a learnt how to make at a Stamp Camp that I attended last September.   I have remade the project using some of the latest stamps and framelits, it is a card holder for 4 cards made using the Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes.

Does it look familiar, it should I cased myself from a card I recently posted here.

The stamp sets used on my project are Writing Notes, Timeless Textures, Grateful Bunch, Crazy About You, And Many More and Picture Perfect.  Colour scheme of Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White and Rose Red.  The flowers were cut from Rose Red patterned paper from the Love Bossoms Designer Series Paper Stack using the Botanical Builder Framelits.

Create the folder front and before you adhere it down make sure that you have put your ribbon around the cover so that you can tie a bow on the side to keep it closed.  I used about 26" of ribbon, this allows you to tie the bow easily.

To create the cover just score a piece of A4 cardstock in half portrait and then in half landscape.  Fold and burnish all the score lines.  Using your Stampin' Trimmer cut on the diagonal  on two sides from the centre score line to the edge of the middle score line to create the pockets for the card.  There is no adhesive required, it just folds up into a little booklet.

I made the 4 cards all the same, just changing up the sentiment to Thanks, Just A Note, Celebrate and Happy Birthday.  I thought that this would cover a lot of occasions where these cute little cards would be appropriate.

This project was actually quite quick to make as I made the cards all the same just changing the sentiment.  Also Stampin' Up make it so easy with the Note Cards and Envelopes already made for us.

A Little bit of Elegance

I just had to make some more of these beautiful gold flowers using the Botanical Builder Framelits and Gold Foil Sheet, they are just so elegant.

To showcase these beautiful flowers, I made a matching gift bag and card using the Basic Black sheet from the Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper has a beautiful sheen to the diagonal stripe.  I added some Gold Foil Sheet and Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum banners along with some Gold Satin Ribbon for the bow.

The little gift card is 3" x 3" and I made a matching Basic Black envelope.

The gift bag was made using the Gift Bag Punch Board and a piece of the Basic Black Colour Me Irresistibly Specialty Designer Series Paper cut at 11" x 7".

Thank you for visiting.

Beautiful Bunch...

The parcel delivery man arrived from Australia Post this morning, I am one happy stamper.  I put my order in on the 3 December and I have been waiting for it to arrive ever since.  Apparently there was a freight train derailment on the 4 December about 350 km east of Kalgoorlie and it was only fixed on the 11 December, so all the parcels from the Eastern States were backed up on the freight trains waiting to get across the Nullabor.  I feel sorry for the Australia Post workers who now have to sort and deliver the backlog of thousands of parcels.

I was lucky enough to win the "Grateful Bunch" stamp set in a Prize Patrol at the On-Stage Local Event held in Perth on 15 November.  I ordered the coordinating Blossoms Bunch Punch as part of my Occasions Catalogue pre-order and this is what I have been waiting for.  I went a little crazy stamping and punching and would like to share with you two of the cards I made.

The first card is using the "Faux Silk" background technique in a classic Basic Black and Whisper White colour scheme.  I cased the background idea from Alison Okamitsu  who is a member of the 2015/16 Stampin' Up Artisans Team.   The Artisans Team posted their first projects yesterday, so if you have not had a chance to do the Blog Hop check it out.  There is some great inspiration.

The second card is using a colour scheme of Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White.  The flowers were stamped in Elegant Eggplant and Dazzling Diamods added to great some bling.

The flowers do not show up as pretty in the photo, but they are all sparkling and catch the light when you move the card onto different angles, so pretty.

Now off to dig into my box of goodies to see what else I can play with this afternoon.  I have a holiday from work today, so I am doing absolutely nothing but stamping and creating.  What fun.

Thank you for visiting.

A bit of Pink and some Bling!

Do you have a stash of Designer Series Paper and never seem to use it?  I do, so I made a concerted effort to use some when I was cardmaking this afternoon.

I used the Blushing Bride paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper pack and the woodgrain sheet from Farmers Market Designer Series Paper pack.  I sponged Blushing Bride on the bottom of the woodgrain paper, graduating from dark to light.  The flowers were made using the new Botanical Builder Framelits that are available 5 January 2016.  A bit of bling was added with sequins, rhinestones and Botanical Garden Jewels Embellishments.  I use the stamp sets "Bloomin' Love" and "and Many More" to create the sentiment.   The finishing touch was the Silver Metallic Thread.

Wine Bottle Sleeves

When I watched the video by Linda Parker on how to make these amazing wine bottle sleeves I just had to try it.  You can see Linda's video's here.  Linda is a very talented lady who shares her creativity with us, which makes us some very lucky paper crafters.

I made some with a Christmas theme using Linda's measurements, what an amazing gift for Christmas.

When I visited the bottle shop to get some wine for these great little gifts I found the large and little bottles of wine which fit Linda's measurements, I made my Christmas gifts using these measurements.

I also spied a little bottle of Yellow Glen which was slightly larger than the little bottle of wine.  I purchased this thinking that the sleeve would still fit, well it did not.  So off to the work bench to work out the measurements etc.  I nailed it on the second go (I scored the wrong side the first go).

To make the wine bottle sleeve to fit the mini Yellow Glen bottle you will need a piece of cardstock 7 1/8" x 7 3/4".  Score on the 7 3/4" edge at 3/8", 1 5/8", 2 7/8", 4 1/8", 5 3/8" and 6 5/8".  Score the 7 1/8" edge at 1 3/8" each end.  The Designer Series Paper strips measure 1" x 4 1/8" and you will need a 1 3/4" circle for the base.  Follow Linda's tutorial to make the actual sleeve.

I made the second set of wine bottle sleeves using a Smoky Slate, Silver and Whisper White colour theme.  These would be great gift for a special occasion or a hostess gift for dinner or party.

Cars behind the Trees

The card I am sharing with you today is one that I cased from Ann Craig.  When I first spied this card I could not work out how it was done, but having visited Ann's blog and saw how simple it was I was amazed.

This is a great card for the men in our lives. It also has a bit of a vintage feel which I really like. Ann's card is made using the Whisper White cardstock so it has a cleaner look.  It was not until after I put my card together and revisited Ann's post that I realised that I had made my card using the dark cardstock, ah well too late.

The supplies you will need for the card are stamp sets "Guy Greetings" and "And Many More", "Woodlands" Textured Embossing Folder, Night of Navy, Soft Suede and Whisper White cardstock, Linen Thread, Night of Navy and Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pads, Momento Black ink pad, Aquapainter, Washi Label Punch and Word Window Punch.

Holiday Catalogue Sneak Peaks...

Hi everyone, I have been playing this afternoon with some of the products available in the new Holiday Catalogue from 1 September 2015.

My first project is using the new Silver Corded Trim and the stamp set Cozy Christmas.  The DSP is from Merry Moments which is available in the Annual Catalogue.  I have used several packs of this DSP but found that I was left with several sheets of the same design.  So I set about designing a little Baker's Box for Christmas, using the DSP sheets that I have a collection of.    I have also used the Baker's Box Thinlits Dies, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White Cardstock, Cherry Cobbler Thick Bakers Twine, Silver Foil Sheets and the Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.

My second project is using the Curvy Corner Trio Punch and Gold Corded Trim from the new Holiday Catalogue. The other items that I have used are all available in the Annual Catalogue - stamp sets Kinda Eclectic, Flower Shop, Petite Petals and Beautiful Bunch along with the coordinating punches Fun Flower, Petite Petals and Pansy, Pearls, Metallics Sequin Assortment and reinkers Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake. The centre panel is on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Frame It

The challenge at The Paper Players is a clean and simple challenge featuring "Frames"

The frame concept is terrific.  I ended up making two cards and had difficulty in deciding which one to enter.  I went with Card One.

Card one I used a colour scheme of Whisper White, Basic Black and Tip Top Taupe.  Stamps sets Awesomely Artistic, Watercolor Wings with the sentiment from And Many More.

My second card is made using the Flower Patch stamp set and matching dies.

Mojo Monday #402

Hi everyone, I would like to share with you my card for the Mojo Monday challenge this week.
I stamped the background using Tip Top Taupe and the Brick Wall Textured Embossing Folder.  I then stamped the splots (this is as good as a description as any) from the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set in Momento Black ink.   Gold Metallic Thread was layered behind the flags and circles.  The DSP is from the Go Wild Paper Stack and the sentiment is from the "And Many More" stamp set which was punched out using the Word Window punch and layered on to the new Washi Label punch.  I was not too sure about this punch when I saw it in the catalogue but it is now one of my favourites.

#Punchitup Creative Challenge

Hi Everyone, I would like to share with you my card that I have made for the Stampin' Up Demonstrator only Creative Challenge.  The challenge is to use the following punches on your card or project:
  • Pansy
  • Hearts Border
  • Fun Flower
  • Sweetheart
#PUNCHITUP

The background I made using the Striped Mask from the Dots and Stripes Mask pack and spritizing with a mix of Pink Pirouette Re-inker and Isocol Rubbing Alcohol.  I wanted just a touch of colour in the background and this turned out perfect.

I made the flower using the Fun Flower and Pansy Punches.  I punched out 3 of each using Pink Pirouette cardstock, misted them with water and layered them together and joined them with an Antique Brad.  I then folded the petals up and formed them around to make the flower.  Once dry I inked the edges with Soft Suede.  The Hearts Border Punch and the Sweetheart Punch were used to make the embellishments.

The little tag idea I found recently but cannot remember where I saw it, so apologies to the creator of the idea.

Gift Bag ....

Hi everyone, I would like to share a project that I made using this beautiful bouquet that was created by Cindee Wilkinson.  I found a video on Wendy Cranford's blog here on how to make the bouquet with a gold colour scheme.  I then made a gift bag from Kraft Cardstock and the Under the Tree Speciality DSP.  I had the Early Espresso sheets left from my Christmas projects and they went perfect with the colour scheme for my bag.  Someone special will be receiving this gift bag.

A Little Gift ....

The challenge this week at Can You Case It is clean and quick, a card that can be made under 10 minutes, 2 layers max plus the card base and with at least one embellishment.
CYCI #57

I had made this little gift box earlier today using the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits and the Irresistibly Yours DSP which I coloured with Blushing Bride ink.  I make my own soap, and have made some small cakes the size to fit in this little gift box, guess what colour it is.

I had a left over piece of the DSP so this challenge was perfect to make a simple and quick matching card to go with my little gift.

The Deconstructed Sketch #188

Hi everyone, I would like to share with you my card I have made for the challenge this week at The Deconstructed Sketch.
Deconstructed Sketch 188

I have gone with a colour scheme of Basic Black, Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  I love the crisp finished look of this colour combination. The flower I made using the Flower Frenzy Bigz L Die and an Antique Brad for the centre.  The Irresistibly Yours DSP from the Sale-a-brations catalogue is great for sponging on colour to co-ordinate with whatever the colour scheme is of your card.
