Happy New Year!

I gave some serious thought to my New Year's Resolution this year.  I had several ideas and this is what I came up with:
  • Stop Eating Chocolate (never going to happen);
  • Lose some weight (I really should, but never going to happen);
  • Join the Gym to get fit (again I really should, but never going to happen).  I have taken the good advice of Paul Terry "When I feel like exercising, I just lie down until the feeling goes away.”;
  • Give up stamping for a month (that is never, never, never going to happen); and
  • Look after my garden better (now that is doable so I am going with this but not sure how long my New Year' Resolution will last).
To celebrate my resolution I made myself a card (I know pretty naff), but this is a card that I was shown how to make at a recent stamp camp, I have just changed up the paper and the wording but everything else is the same.  I made a card with the same Apron pattern last week and you can see this here.

I have used the stamp set "Gift from the Garden" and "Alphabet Rotary Stamp", Real Red and Whisper White cardstock, Brights Designer Series Paper Stack, Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Pack, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Ovals and Handjpicked Framelits, Large Oval Punch, 1/4" handheld Circle Punch, Whisper White 1/4" Cotton  Ribbon, Early Espresso and Smoky Slate ink.

Wishing you a great New Year.

Thank you for visiting.

Party Time Perth

I was recently invited to do a 15 minute "WOW" presentation at the Party Time Perth event held on 8 November, 2014.  It was a terrific day, and the presentations were so inspirational.  The display was out of this world, I did not know where to look first with so many beautiful and creative ideas.  I certainly went home inspired.

Well back to my "WOW" presentation.  I was so organised at home having decided on a theme of vintage, I had made my notes and decided on what I was going to say, cinch you say.  Well, when I got up on stage to do my presentation, the heart started beating at a great rate of knots and stage fright set in.  All my carefully prepared presentation went out the window.  I was so nervous and I can't even remember what I said.  It must have been okay, as people were congratulating me (either that or they were just being very nice to me).  Either way I went home a happy camper.

This is the card that I made for the presentation.

Bits-n-Pieces

Hi everyone, I have been making cards today using up some of my Bits-n-Pieces (these seem to have been growing at a great rate lately, so I must use them up).   I was inspired to do this using this week's sketch challenge at Retro Sketches.

This is the card I made using my Bits-n-Pieces from the Modern Medley DSP and Neutrals DSP Paper Stack.  It is amazing how far these strips and off cuts go.  I inked over some of the DSP using Baked Brown Sugar to give the Brown, Black and Cream colour theme that I was after.

While I was on a roll I also made another two cards using up my Bits-n-Pieces.  It was like doing patchwork but with paper and card, what fun.  This one was made using 1 1/4" squares mounted on 1 3/8" squares, then placed on the diagonal.

I used the new Alphabet Rotary stamp to create the sentiment on the last card.  I can see me using this a lot to create titles for my cards and also for scrapbook pages, the ideas are endless.
