Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite - Day 2

Hi everyone, sharing another project using products from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite.

This card sketch I cased from Call Me Crafty Al which was one of her Sheetload of Cards layouts.  I adapted the sizing to suit the metric measurements used here in Australia.

You need to select 3 coordinating 6" x 6" pieces of Designer Series Paper.  You can cut these all at the same time or each piece individually, it is entirely up to you.  I did the 3 pieces together as this cuts down the cutting time and speeds up your card making. You will get 6 cards from the 3 pieces of Designer Series Paper.

The 1st cut is a horizontal cut at 7.5cm.  This will leave you with a piece of Designer Series Paper 7.5cm high and 15.2cm wide.

The 2nd cut is a horizontal cut at 4.1cm.  This will leave you with a piece of Designer Series Paper 4.1cm high by 15.2cm wide.  Cut this piece in half so you will end up with two pieces 4.1cm x 7.6cm.

You will have a 15.2cm wide strip left after these cuts.  I cut this into strips to decorate the inside of the cards.

Take the 7.5cm x 15.2cm piece and cut 2 pieces at 3.1cm x 7.5cm, then cut 2 pieces at 4.1cm x 7.5cm.  You will have a very tiny piece left on the end which can be discarded.

The mat for the Designer Series Paper is 8cm x 12.3cm.

A tip for putting the cards together.  Adhere the bottom piece of Designer Series Paper first as you can then line up the edges of the other two pieces easily.  Once the Designer Series Paper was adhered in place the mat was then adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

You can decorate however you like, I used the Layering Circles Dies with the sentiment from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set.  A piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon was adhered behind the sentiment circle which was adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.  Some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to finish.

You get 2 cards of each design.  This is a great layout to create a lot of cards quickly and also a great way to use the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

Hope you enjoyed this project cased from Call Me Crafty Al.
