Hand Lotion and Soap Gift Box

At my recent class the ladies made this small gift box which holds a small hand lotion and soap.

It is a perfect little gift for Christmas or anytime of the year, you just need to change up the decoration slightly.

This project used products from the Merry Little Christmas Suite, using the two stamps sets 'Carols of Christmas' and 'Merry Little Labels'.  The new 'Everyday Label' punch was also used to create the 'For You' label.

Seasonal Chums

Just loving the new Stampin' Blends.  Had a play with them colouring the images from the Seasonal Chums stamp set.  I made two Christmas cards and two tags.

The stamp set also comes with a pumpkin for Halloween, but I did not use this image as I wanted to make Christmas cards and tags.

The Seasonal Tags Framelits comes with the snow flake and the small trees as well as several other pieces for Halloween.

I teamed the Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set and matching Christmas Lampost Thinlits with the Seasonal Chums stamp set and matching Seasonal Tags Framelits for this card.

The Stampin' Blends are available from 1 November 2017.

Woodgrain Background

Hi everyone, it has been a few weeks since I have posted but I have been a bit busy putting my house back together after a recent burglary.  I never new I had so many clothes that needed to go to the charity shop until they were all pulled out of my wardrobe and dresser.

I have been creating in between and today's card is one using the Wood Textures DSP.  I cased the background from Connie Collins and you can see her amazing card here.

The focal point on my card is a technique called Stained Glass Window Stamping using heat resistant acetate.  This technique can be found on Jennifer Maguires blog here. I had some old overhead projector sheets that I tried and it worked perfectly.

I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set and the matching Seasonal Layers Thinlits to create the Stained Glass Window piece.

To finish the card I used some Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon, and Old Olive Glitter Enamel Dots

The little banner was made using the stamps sets Birthday Banners and Teeny Tiny Sentiments along with the Bunch of Banners Framelits.

Sentiment Spotlighting

Jennifer McGuire recently posted some great ways to spotlight the sentiments on your cards.  I loved the technique of doing your stamping and then cutting out the word with dies.  I had a go at this fun using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.

I made 2 cards, one clean and simple and the other step up slightly.

I used the floral image from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set, heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and coloured with the clear Wink of Stella pen using Berry Burst and Old Olive inks.  This gives a lovely shimmer to the card.  The word 'love' is die cut from the floral image, and layered onto two other words 'love' cut from Whsiper White and then adhered to the card front.  Follow the tutorial on Jennifer McGuire's post to see how this is done.

The sentiments are from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set that go with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.  These were heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Basic Black cardstock.  Glitter Enamel Dots were added to finish the card.

For the stepped up version I embossed a piece of Vellum using the Quilt Top Impressions Embossing Folder, this was adhered to the Berry Burst card base.  Two strips of Basic Black were punched using the Decorative Ribbon Border punched and these were layered on the sides of the centre panel.  The sentiment, Glitter Enamel Dots and a Whisper White Bakers Twine bow were added to finish the card front.
