Jennifer McGuire recently posted some great ways to spotlight the sentiments on your cards. I loved the technique of doing your stamping and then cutting out the word with dies. I had a go at this fun using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits.
I made 2 cards, one clean and simple and the other step up slightly.
I used the floral image from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set, heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and coloured with the clear Wink of Stella pen using Berry Burst and Old Olive inks. This gives a lovely shimmer to the card. The word 'love' is die cut from the floral image, and layered onto two other words 'love' cut from Whsiper White and then adhered to the card front. Follow the tutorial on Jennifer McGuire's post to see how this is done.
The sentiments are from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set that go with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. These were heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Basic Black cardstock. Glitter Enamel Dots were added to finish the card.
For the stepped up version I embossed a piece of Vellum using the Quilt Top Impressions Embossing Folder, this was adhered to the Berry Burst card base. Two strips of Basic Black were punched using the Decorative Ribbon Border punched and these were layered on the sides of the centre panel. The sentiment, Glitter Enamel Dots and a Whisper White Bakers Twine bow were added to finish the card front.
