Best Dressed Designer Series Paper - Day 1

Hi everyone, I shared sometime over the weekend crafting with a group of lovely ladies.  We made sure that we did the social distancing bit and it was really great to get together and spend sometime away from home.

I decided to make cards using the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper that is retiring.  I have two packs of this paper so I decided to sit down to see what I could create.   Over the next 7 days I will be posting the cards that I have made using this gorgeous paper.

I really love the Daisy Lane stamp set and the coordinating Medium Daisy Punch as it makes creating gorgeous flowers for your projects so easy.

The sentiment for this card is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

These two cards were made using a couple of left over pieces of the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper.  I love the fresh look of the yellow daisies with the soft patterned paper.

The sentiment on card 2 is from the Label Me Bold stamp set, another favourite of mine which I am sad to say is also retiring.

Thank you for visiting.

It is Time for a Little More Vintage ...

Hi everyone, sharing another of my vintage style projects made using the just one sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.

The large flowers were made using the Floral Essence stamp set. These were stamped using Crumb Cake ink, punched out using the Perennial Flower punch and layered together before colouring the centres using a sponge dauber and Saddle Brown StazOn ink.  The small flowers were made using the Small Blossoms punch, So Saffron cardstock and the Saddle Brown StazOn ink.

The background was made using the Corrugated Embossing Folder and White Craft ink.  The sentiment is from the Label Me Bold stamp set

Time for a Little More Vintage ...

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and keeping safe.

I am sharing another of my vintage style projects made using the one sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I used the Floral Essence and the Label Me Bold stamp sets along with the Perennial Flower punch, the Small Bloom punch, Corrugated Embossing Folder, White Craft ink, Saddle Brown StazOn and Leaf Punch.

I swiped the White Craft ink pad over the piece of Crumb Cake cardstock after I had embossed it with the Corrugated Embossing Folder.  It gives a great contrast to the other elements on the card.

Another Vintage Style Project...

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and keeping safe.

I am sharing another of my vintage style projects made using the one sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.

It is great to have a little gift and Thank you card ready for when you need them.  Just perfect to say a little thank you to someone.

This card sketch is one I have used many times before and it is terrific for using the smaller pieces of Designer Series Paper.  These pieces measure 3cm x 5.1cm each.

For the little gift packaging I have used one of the 7.6cm x 15.2cm Gusseted Cellophane Bags to which I have tied a tag I created using the die from the Bonanza Dies.  I tied the bag with the Crumb Cake Natures Twine.

Vintage Style ...

Hi everyone, I will be sharing a series of cards and gift packaging over the next couple of weeks that I have created using one sheet of Designer Series Paper from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I decided to get a bit of 'Vintage' on when creating these cards. I used the Floral Essence and the Label Me Bold stamp sets along with the Perennial Flower punch, the Small Bloom punch, Corrugated Embossing Folder, White Craft ink, Saddle Brown StazOn and Leaf Punch.

Oranges & Lemons ...

Hi everyone, sharing another card I made using the Botanical Prints Product Medley and the Label Me Bold stamp set.   No lemons on today's card, just the oranges (I think they are oranges, but I could be wrong).

The Botanical Prints Product Medley box of goodies make card making so easy.  You get Designer Series Paper, Stamp set, Dies, die cut accents, laser cut sheets, ribbon and copper bee embellishments.

For the background I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Tin Tile Embossing folder.  The elements behind the Basic Black Circle were stamped using Black Memento ink and die cut.  I get these plain as I wanted the die cut accent as the main focal point.

This is a quick and easy card to make, the longest part was deciding on what card sketch I was going to use.

Anyone for Lemons ...

Hi everyone, sharing another card made using the Botanical Prints Product Medley.  I have added a sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set as I was wanting to make some birthday cards for the stash at work that I sell for our Cancer Council Relay for Life Team fundraising efforts.

I just love the Botanical Prints Product Medley, it comes in a little white box, but what a little box of goodies they are.  You get a stamp set, dies, Designer Series Paper, die cut elements, laser cut overlays, twill ribbon and the very cute little bee embellishments.

This card was pretty easy to make as I used one of the die cut elements that come with the kit as the focal point of the card along with some of the Designer Series Paper in the kit.  The only stamping was the sentiment.

Best Dressed ...

Hi everyone, sharing a set of cards that I made using the Best Dressed 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, the Label Me Bold stamp set and the Medium Daisy Punch.  I seem to have a thing going on lately creating daisy flowers.

The background Petal Pink cardstock piece has been embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I love the textured look that this embossing creates.

The Lovely Lipstick decorative strip was made using the new Braided Border Punch.

I love this card sketch and it is one that I have used a lot of times as it is great to use up smaller pieces of Designer Series Paper.

The Best Dressed Designer Series Paper is just gorgeous, one side has floral and geometric imagery with the other side coordinating with the products from the Best Dress Suite.  It has lipstick, shoes, perfume bottles and hand bags imagery.

Perfect Posy

Hi everyone, sharing one of the projects the ladies made in class today.

This project uses the 2019-2020 In Color 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack.  I have cut the piece of Purple Posy Designer Series Paper into 3" x 2" pieces, that means you get 6 cards from the one 6" x 6" piece of patterned paper.

The piece of Designer Series Paper has been matted onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock 3 1/8" x 2 1/8".  A Basic Black Stitched Shape Circle was cut using the 2nd largest circle.

The daisies were stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink on Whisper White cardstock and punched out using the Medium Daisy Punch.  Two of the daisies are layered together to form one flower.  A Clear Faceted Gem was added to the centre of the flower.  Make two flowers for the card.

The Old Olive leaves were created using the leaf die from the In The Woods dies.  The Vellum leaves were created using the Leaf Punch.

The sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set was stamped with Black Memento on Whisper White cardstock and hand cut out.

Something Retiring,Something Brown, Something Current and Something New ....

Hi everyone, hands up those craft-a-holics that have a heap of Designer Series Paper and never seem to get around to using it.  I will put my hand up as a serial offender.

I bought the 'Come to Gather' Designer Series Paper Pack months ago and have only made one card with it.  So I set myself a little challenge to use a piece 6" x 12" and see what I could create.  Not sure if I should call this is a half sheet wonder or not, lol.

Something Retiring - 'Come to Gather' Designer Series Paper
Something Brown - Early Espresso Cardstock and ink
Something Current - Daisy Lane Stamp Set, Medium Daisy Punch
Something New - Label Me Bold Stamp Set

All the cards use the same basic elements, the only change is the card sketch and the background label or circle.

I cut the piece of Designer Series Paper into the following sizes for the cards

  • 4 pieces 5.1cm x 14.8cm
  • 2 pieces 5.1cm x 10.5cm
  • 1 piece 5.1cm x 10.1cm

I have used a colour theme of Early Espresso, Whisper White and Gold for all the cards.

The sentiments are from the new 'Label Me Bold' stamp set.  I have only used the Happy Birthday and the Congratulations stamps in the set, but there are five more sentiments and five other stamps that are great for creating backgrounds.

I have used dies from the 'In The Woods' and 'Frosted Frames' dies.

The daisy flower centres are the Gold Faceted Gems, these are great for flower centres.

The Gold Glitter Enamel Dots are from the 'Christmas Time is Here' suite, they perfectly match the Gold part of the card theme.

A Linen Thread Bow was added to finish.

I had a lot of fun making these cards, and the good thing is that I can make another one of each from the other piece of 6" x 12" Designer Series Paper.  That is 14 cards from the one 12" x 12" sheet of patterned paper.

You can buy everything now (apart from the Label Me Bold stamp set).  The Designer Series Paper is retiring at the end of December so do not miss out.
