Dandy Garden Suite

Hi everyone, sharing a set of cards I made using 4 sheets of 3 designs of the 6" x 6" Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper and other products from the Dandy Garden Suite available in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue.

Hands up if you have the Dandy Gardens Memories & More Cards & Envelopes and have never used them.  My hand has gone up, I had two packs of them that I had not even opened.  I also had nearly a full pack of the Dandy Garden 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, the Ladybug Trinkets and Mossy Meadow 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.  I have not used up all these supplies on these cards, but I put a good dent in them with just a few left to use up.

To design my cards I sat with some templates of 1" x 5" strips, 1" x 4 1/2" strips, 1" x 4" strips, 1 1/2" x 2" strips and 2" x 3" pieces.  I sat and worked out the best cutting layout to maximise the best use of the Designer Series Paper with little or no left overs.  Some of the strips that were left I decorated the inside of my cards with and kept a few others as I have another project in mind for these.

I made a total of 24 cards, 6 each of the 4 designs.  I kept the embellishments and sentiments the same across all the cards, making a couple of each to suit many occasions.  The Stitched Flag pieces were die cut using the Tasteful Labels Dies.

Card 1

I cut the Designer Series Paper at
  • Bumblebee Print - 1" x 5" or 2.5cm x 12.8cm - Basic Black mats 1/8" or 0.5cm larger
  • Calypso Coral Print - 1" x 4" or 2.5cm x 10.6cm - Basic Black mats 1/8" or 0.5cm larger
  • Floral Print - 2" x 3" or 5.1cm x 7.6cm - Basic Black mats 1/8" or 0.5cm larger
The sentiment square is cut using the 2nd smallest square in the Stitched Shaped Dies and a scalloped Square from Layering Square Dies.  The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

The Dragonfly was stamp using Black Memento Ink and coloured using Light & Dark Mango Melody and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.  This was punched out using the Dragonflies Punch.

Card 2

Card 3

I cut the Designer Series Paper at

  • Bumblebee Print -  2" x 1 1/2" (2 pieces for each card) or 5.1cm x 3.8cm - Basic Black mat was cut at 2 1/8" x 3 1/2" or 5.6cm x 8.9cm.
  • Calypso Coral Print - 1" x 4 1/2" or 2.5cm x 11.4cm - Basic Black mats 1/8" or 0.5cm larger
  • Floral Print - 2" x 3" or 5.1cm x 7.6cm - Basic Black mats 1/8" or 0.5cm larger
The sentiment circle is cut using the 2nd smallest circle in the Stitched Shaped Dies and a scalloped circle from Layering Circle Dies.  The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.

The Dragonfly was stamp using Black Memento Ink and coloured using Light & Dark Mango Melody and Light Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends.  This was punched out using the Dragonflies Punch.

The Bumblebee Print is adhere to either side of the Basic Black mat that goes across the card, leaving a gap in the middle that is covered by the other layers.  This gets the best out of the paper making sure that you get the 6 cards out out of the 6" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper.

This card has some Matte Back Dots added as an extra embellishment.

Magnolia Lane Monday

Hi everyone, sharing another one of the cards made using the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack.

This card uses one of the flowers fussy cut from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper along with one of the cards from the card pack.  The matching sentiment is from the sticker sheet in the card pack which has been matted onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock.

The Stitched Shaped Circles were slightly offset to give an element of interest and to also allow space for the rhinestones.

A piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon was added behind the sentiment circle.

For the inside of the card the small Magnolia flower image from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set was stamped using Early Espresso on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.

Magnolia Lane Monday

Hi everyone, sharing another of the cards made using the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack.

This card uses one of the large Memories & More cards which I have cut into 2" strips, you get three cards.

The flower that was cut from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper was layered onto a Petal Pink Stitched Shaped Circle along with Mossy Meadow leaves die cut using the Winter Woods dies and vellum leaves punch using the Leaf Punch.

The sentiment panel is made using the Stitched Rectangle Dies and the image from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.

As an alternative to the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes you can use other card bases.  This card is the same sketch as the first card, with the Memories and More card piece backed onto a Basic Black cardstock mat.  The background was stamped from the large solid image from the Artisan Textures stamp set using Petal Pink ink.

For the middle of these cards 'Happy Birthday' was stamped in the middle of a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso ink.

Magnolia Lane Monday

Hi everyone, over the next couple of months, each Monday I will be sharing cards that I have made using the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Pack.  I have also used other products from the Magnolia Lane Suite.

I will show tips on how to use the stickers in the card pack, how to use the printed vellum sheets and the cards themselves.  I decided to use the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards and Envelopes for the majority of the cards that I have designed.  I love the natural kraft look of these cards and envelopes.

Week one uses the printed vellum sheets in the card pack.

You can leave the vellum sheet untouched just backing it onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, creating a monochromatic card with a natural look.  I just cut the vellum sheet in half to fit the card front, this way you get two cards from the one sheet.  The ribbon is from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.

For the inside of this card I second generation stamped the small flower image from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set using Early Espresso ink.

Or you can colour the vellum sheet, again backing onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I have coloured this piece with the Petal Pink (Light & Dark) and Mossy Meadow (Light & Dark) Stampin' Blends. Again I have cut the vellum sheet in half to fit the card front.

This card uses one of the flower stickers as a focal point on the sentiment circle.  I decided to offset the middle circle just to add a bit more interest and it left room for the rhinestones which is a great little extra.  The ribbon is the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon, matches perfectly with the colours in the flowers.

For the inside of the card I used the small leaf image sticker that is not coloured, just the outline image.

This is another card, here that I have made previously using one of the vellum sheets from the Magnolia Lane Memories and Card Pack.

Fundraiser - Junior Diabetes Research Foundation

Hi everyone, sharing the projects that the ladies made at the fundraiser I held yesterday for the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation.

I had 40 ladies attend the fundraiser and they had a great time making the cards and catching up with everyone. We raised $4,040 AUD which I think is an amazing effort by everyone.

A big thank you for all those who supported the day, it is very much appreciated.

I have been designing and cutting up kits for the last 8 weeks (in between working full time), so have not been making a lot of projects to post on my blog so hopefully you enjoy these.

Card 1

This card uses the gorgeous Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and the Magnolia Memory Dies.

The Magnolia was coloured using Petal Pink (Light & Dark) and Mossy Meadow (Light & Dark) Stampin' Blends.

Card 2

This card uses the Broadway Birthday stamp set. The Designer Series Paper I have used on this card is now retired as I actually designed this card in April ready for my fundraiser.  You could use other Designer Series Paper to get a similar look.

Card 3

This card uses product from the Come Sail Away Suite.  I love all the products in this Suite and I know I will be making a lot of projects using this Suite.

Card 4

This card uses the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards and Envelopes and the Free as a Bird stamp set.

The image was coloured using and Aquapainter and Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz and Mossy Meadow ink.

Card 5

This card uses the Over the Moon stamp set.  I cannot remember who first stamp the 'Cow Paper' that I have CASED and there are so many demonstrators doing it now that it is hard to find the original idea.  So whomever you are, thank you so much for such a great idea.

I did two variations on how to put this card together.

Card 6

This card uses the oh so pretty Noble Peacock Suite.  How amazing is the Noble Peacock Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Card 7

This card uses the To a Wild Ride stamp set.  The rose is a 3 step stamped image and the Stamparatus is the perfect tool to use when stamping the rose.

Card 8

This card uses the Above the Clouds and Waterfront stamp sets and the coordinating Hot Air Balloon Punch.  This card is my favourite,

Tuesday Challenge #19

Hi everyone, sharing my project for this week's Tuesday Challenge where I have challenged myself to make a card or project using products from the Annual Catalogue.

The ladies who come to my card classes made this project last Sunday, and they really enjoyed using the products from the Magnolia Lane Suite.

My friend Louise recently showed me a notebook that had the Magnolia Flower gold heat embossed and then the whitewash technique used to colour the flower with Petal Pink.  I love this so much that I cased this idea and added a sentiment 'a little note' from the Butterfly Gala stamp set which was also gold heat embossed to the front of the notebook.  This was matched with a pretty pen and wrapped up in a piece of Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper, tied with a piece of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon.  A tag was created using the dies and images from the stamp sets and adhered to the package front to make a little birthday gift.

A matching card was made to compliment the gift.

Using your Designer Series Paper is a great way to create gorgeous gift wrapping.  I really love the idea of the card matching the gift wrapping.

Tuesday Challenge #16

Hi everyone, I am a little late today in posting my card for my Tuesday Challenge to use a stamp set and other goodies from the Annual Catalogue to create a card or other project.

Today is the 1st day of the 2019/20 Annual Catalogue, so I have a lot of new products to choose from.  I have chosen products from one of most peoples favourite suite Magnolia Lane.

Using one of the Note Cards I stamped the background using the Artisan Textures stamp set and Petal Pink and Early Espresso ink.

On top of this stamping I adhered a strip of striped pattern paper from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper pack.  I did a little die cutting using the Magnolia Memory Dies, I also die cut the small Magnolia which I had stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Stampin' Blends.

The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and  was die cut using the Stitched Shaped Dies.

The green linen thread behind the arrangement is from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.  A few pearls were added to finish the card.

You could make a set of these cards as a little gift.  There are various sentiments in the stamp set so you could change the sentiment on each card.  Perfect for a lot of occasions.
