Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite - Day 4

Hi everyone, sharing another project using the products from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite.

For this layout I used 4 sheets of the Gingerbread and Peppermint 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper which I cut down to 11.8cm high by 15.2cm wide.  You will get 8 cards from this layout.  Use the strips left over to decorate the inside of the cards.

The first cut is a vertical cut at 7.6cm, this will give you two pieces 7.6cm wide x 11.8cm high.

The 2nd cut is a vertical cut on each pieces of DSP cut at 4.1cm.  This will leave you with two pieces of DSP, one 4.1cm wide by 11.8cm high and the other 3.4cm wide by 11.8cm high.

Take these two pieces and on the long side cut 5cm from the end of each piece.  This will leave you with four pieces - one 3.4cm x 5cm, one 3.4cm x 6.8cm, one 4.1cm x 5cm and one 4.1cm x 6.8cm.

You could cut two pieces of DSP together to cut down on the cutting time and speed up your card making or you can cut each piece separately.

The mat was cut at 8.5cm a 12.8cm, however this left quite a larger border so you could cut this at 8cm x 12.3cm and have a small border and gap between the pattern paper pieces.

Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the Early Espresso mat, making sure to use only one pattern of each DSP on each card.  You will get two cards of each design.

The sentiment is from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set and the circles were created using the Layering Circles Dies.

Hope you enjoyed this project.

The Paper Players PP567 - Colour Challenge

Hi everyone, I am playing along this week with the Colour Challenge at The Paper Players.  The challenge is to create a project using the colours of Grey, White, Black and Silver.

I have used a piece of patterned paper for the background from the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper Pack cut at 7.5cm x 11.8cm with the Basic Black mat cut at 8cm x 12.3cm.  The circles were cut using the Gingerbread Dies and the Layering Circles Dies. The sentiment is from the Art Gallery stamp set which was White heat embossed before die cutting with the matching Floral Gallery Dies.

Hope you enjoyed this project.

Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite - Day 3

Hi everyone, sharing another project using products from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite.

The Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper was cut at:
  • Cinnamon Cider/White DSP - 5.2cm x 12.7cm
  • Real Red/White DSP - 5.2cm x 9.5cm
  • Old Olive/Real Red/White Dot DSP - 5.2cm x 7cm

All the Early Espresso mats were cut 4cm wider.

The Christmas Tree was fussy cut from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Designer Series Paper and the sentiment from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set was White heat embossed before being die cut using the label die from the Pretty Pillow Box Dies.

Some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to finish.

Hope you enjoyed this project.

Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite - Day 2

Hi everyone, sharing another project using products from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite.

This card sketch I cased from Call Me Crafty Al which was one of her Sheetload of Cards layouts.  I adapted the sizing to suit the metric measurements used here in Australia.

You need to select 3 coordinating 6" x 6" pieces of Designer Series Paper.  You can cut these all at the same time or each piece individually, it is entirely up to you.  I did the 3 pieces together as this cuts down the cutting time and speeds up your card making. You will get 6 cards from the 3 pieces of Designer Series Paper.

The 1st cut is a horizontal cut at 7.5cm.  This will leave you with a piece of Designer Series Paper 7.5cm high and 15.2cm wide.

The 2nd cut is a horizontal cut at 4.1cm.  This will leave you with a piece of Designer Series Paper 4.1cm high by 15.2cm wide.  Cut this piece in half so you will end up with two pieces 4.1cm x 7.6cm.

You will have a 15.2cm wide strip left after these cuts.  I cut this into strips to decorate the inside of the cards.

Take the 7.5cm x 15.2cm piece and cut 2 pieces at 3.1cm x 7.5cm, then cut 2 pieces at 4.1cm x 7.5cm.  You will have a very tiny piece left on the end which can be discarded.

The mat for the Designer Series Paper is 8cm x 12.3cm.

A tip for putting the cards together.  Adhere the bottom piece of Designer Series Paper first as you can then line up the edges of the other two pieces easily.  Once the Designer Series Paper was adhered in place the mat was then adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.

You can decorate however you like, I used the Layering Circles Dies with the sentiment from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set.  A piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon was adhered behind the sentiment circle which was adhered to the card front using Dimensionals.  Some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to finish.

You get 2 cards of each design.  This is a great layout to create a lot of cards quickly and also a great way to use the 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

Hope you enjoyed this project cased from Call Me Crafty Al.

Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite - Day 1

Hi everyone, I have been making Christmas cards this week for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation fundraising efforts at a Christmas Market to be held next week.

Over the next few days I will be sharing the cards I have been making using the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite.

This card sketch is great for using left over pieces of pattern paper.  The pieces were cut at:
  • Cinnamon Cider/White DSP - 4cm x 12.3cm
  • Old Olive, White and Real Read Plaid DSP - 4cm x 7.5cm
  • Real Red/White DSP - 4cm x 4.5cm
The iced pieces of Gingerbread used as embellishments were cut from the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  There are several sheets in the pack that have images that you can either fussy cut or die cut using the matching Gingerbread Dies.

The sentiment is from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set which was stamped on Basic White using Black Memento ink.  The circles were die cut using the Layering Circles Dies.

A few Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to finish the card.

Hope you enjoyed this project.

Happy Holidays!

Hi everyone, sharing one of the cards from today's card class.  This card uses products from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite.

The card base is from the Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, a bonus is that you get a matching envelope.

The Gingerbread Christmas Bauble and the Gingerbread Snowflake have been cut from the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  This paper has some sheets where you can cut the images using the matching Gingerbread dies or fussy cut to use on your projects and other sheets with designs that coordinate with these images.

Hope you enjoyed this project.
