Feels Like Frost ...

Hi everyone, sharing 4 cards I made using the gorgeous 'Feels Like Frost' Designer Series Paper.  My cards to day show the versatility of this paper, it is perfect for Christmas Cards but can also be used for other occasions.

I needed to make some more Sympathy cards for the card stash at work.  I sell these cards with the proceeds going to the fundraising efforts of our WA Cancer Council Relay for Life Team.

I have cut a strip from the top of the piece of Designer Series Paper so that the piece is 11.8cm, I then cut it into two 7.5cm strips.  You get two cards from the one piece of 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.  The strip from the top I cut into a 10cm length and then cut this in half lengthwise to give me two strips for the inside of each of the cards.

This is the second card I made with the other piece of the Designer Series Paper.  The layout is very simple as the gorgeous paper does all the work.

Using the same sketch I made some blue ones for the men folk.

I will admit that I had a bit of trouble cutting up this paper pack as it is just so pretty.  You get 48 sheets 6" x 6", 4 each of 12 designs.  The reverse side of the paper also has beautiful silver and white designs.

Beautiful Daisies

Hi everyone, sharing a card that I made for my Upline, Ngaire Anderson.  I just wanted to drop a little note to Ngaire to tell her how much I enjoyed her presentation at OnStage Perth.

I cased the daisy arrangement on my card from a very special friend, Pat Carr.  I was lucky enough to receive one of Pat's swaps at OnStage Perth and loved the daisy arrangement so much I just had to remake it.

Recognise the sketch?  It has become one of my go to sketches at the moment.

The daisy was made using the Succulent Framelits with the leaves from the May Flowers Framelits and the Flourish Thinlits dies. The daisy centres were made using the Handheld 1/4" Circle Punch which has been retired but you could use the Owl Builder Punch instead.

The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

Hello

Hi everyone, I have been creating my swaps for the On Stage Local event to be held in Perth on the 8 April.

I wanted a quick and easy designs as I was wanting to make about 20 of this design.  I will be making more swaps but of a different design.

The stamp set I used is the Flourishing Phrases.  The flower and leaves were stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.  I fussy cut the flowers and leaves. You will need two flowers as the centre of one is cut out and layered onto the centre of the other one to create some dimension to the flower.

The background was stamped with the dot image from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using Basic Black Archival ink.  A strip of dotted copper Washing Tape from the Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape Pack was added along with a Basic Black decorative strip made using the Flourish Thinlits.  This decorative strip was cut down to fit the card.

The sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set was stamped using Basic Black Archival Ink.

All the leaves and flowers were adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

For the inside of the card a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 14.3cm x 10cm was adhered in place.  A piece of Whisper White cardstock 13.8cm x 9.5cm with a strip of the dotted Copper Washi tape added to the bottom was then adhered to the Basic Black mat.

Thank You ...

Hi everyone, sharing a design I cased from Angela Maine on my card today.   I have used Stampin' Up! products which created a different look to the card, but the actual design and layout I cased from Angela.

The flowers from the 'Grateful Bunch' stamp set were stamped with Early Espresso and coloured using Peekaboo Peach and the Clear Wink of Stella pen (in case you had not noticed I love the finished look of the Wink of Stella pen).  The flowers were then punched out using Blossoms Bunch punch.  The leaf and stem image was stamped with Always Artichoke and again coloured using the Clear Wink of Stella pen.

I used the Seasonal Decorative Mask (these are still available on the Year-End Closeouts specials for $7.00 AUD, but only until 3 January 2017) along with some texture paste for the background.  I also used the Flourish Thinlits dies and the Layering Circles and Stitched Shaped Framelits.    The Thank You sentiment is from the stamp set 'Flourishing Phrases"

Purse Notebook

Hi everyone, wishing you a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I had a great Christmas Day with my brothers, sister-in-law and nephews having lunch together before we went and spent the afternoon with Mum at the Nursing Home.  It was a delight to see her face light up when we all trooped in with our presents and then giving her all the hugs and kisses.  We had a terrific time with her sharing a lot of laughter and just catching up.  It was good to see Mum still had her sense of humour.  She received a box of chocolates as one of her presents and after opening them she said "Now I suppose you want to help me eat them".  My nephews had a few, but we left most of them for her to enjoy.

Now to today's post.  I was recently given this cute little post-it note holder with a calendar for my purse by a good friend.  You know when you are trying to find something to write-on and you cannot find even a scrap of paper.

I thought that this is a terrific idea, but I am not sure if you are like me and you can also never find a pen either.  So I stepped up the design slightly and added a mini gel pen, now set and ready to go. I will be using the one that I was given at home as I also have the same problem of never being able to find anything to write-on when I need to jot something down, especially when I am on the phone and need to take down a phone number, date or other information.

For the covers I used the cardboard from the Designer Series Paper stacks and I also tried the cardboard from the Foil Sheet packs as this was slightly thicker.  I liked the finished looked using the cardboard from the Designer Series Paper stacks, but both worked out okay.

I have used a small disc magnet for the closure on my design as it was easier to open and shut.  The stamp set used is 'Flourishing Phrases' and I also used the coordinating 'Flourish' Thinlits to create the small flower on the inside.  I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Circles Framelits for the 'Just a Note' sentiment on the front cover of the holder.  The patterned paper is from the 'Blooms and Bliss' Designer Series Paper.

The ladies that attend my regular fortnightly classes will be making this in January.  After this time I will post the measurements and how it was put together.

Blooms and Bliss ....

Hi everyone, a quick and easy card today, it takes about 15 minutes to make.  This is one of the cards the ladies made at the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation fundraiser that I held last weekend.

Cut a piece of A4 Sweet Sugarplum cardstock in half lengthwise and then fold in half to make your card base.

The Rich Razzleberry mat is 9.5cm x 13.8cm and the Whisper White piece on top of this is 9cm x 13.3cm.  Cut a piece of Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper 9cm x 10cm and stick this to the top of the Whisper White piece.

Stamp the sentiment on the bottom, making sure to leave enough room for the Rich Razzleberry decorative strip which is made using the Flourish Thinlits.

Cut out a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper Butterfly using the smallest Butterfly in the Bold Butterfly Framelits.  Sponge Rich Razzleberry ink on a scrap of Whisper White and cut out using the small solid Butterfly Butterflies Thinlits, layer the two Butterflies together using glue dots.

Put all the layers and elements together to complete the card.

A small strip of Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper was added to a piece of Whisper White cardstock 10cm x 14.3cm for the card inside.
