Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper

Happy New Year everyone, hoping 2021 is better than 2020.  I have had a little play today with the retiring Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Basketweave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack.

This is what I have made so far, I have a lot of sheets of the Mint Macaron with the line art Copper Leaf image so this is the main focal point of my cards.  

I cut two 10.5cm x 30.5cm vertical strips from the piece of 30.5cm x 30.5cm Designer Series Paper and then cut the strips into three pieces 10.5cm x 9cm and three pieces 10.5cm x 1.2cm (one will be 1.1cm).  You will get six cards using these measurements which is the layout I have used on the first two cards.  The small 10.5cm x 1.2cm strips are used to decorate the inside of the card.

I added strips of Early Espresso cut at 10.5cm x 0.5cm which I adhered where the Designer Series Paper joined the card base. 

For card three I cut the remaining piece of paper into four pieces of 12.8cm x 4.7cm and matted these onto Early Espresso cardstock cut at 13.3cm x 5.2cm.  The Striped and Crumb Cake Designer Series Paper were scrap pieces I had leftover from a previous project, they measure 2.5cm 10.5cm for the Striped piece and 3.8cm x 3.8cm for the Crumb Cake piece.  These were matted on to Early Espresso cardstock cut at 0.5cm larger. 

I really enjoyed making these projects, especially as used some of this gorgeous paper that is in my stash.

Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone, sharing one of the projects from last week's class using the products from the World of Good Suite.

The Designer Series Paper is from the World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.  The centre panel was created by embossing a piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder and then dragging the Cinnamon Cider ink pad across the raised areas.  This creates a great contrast.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set and was die cut using the smallest die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

Birthday Wishes

Botanical Prints Product Medley

Hi everyone, sharing a card made using the Botanical Prints Product Medley from the new 2020 Mini Catalogue.

I backed the laser cut overlay with a piece of Copper Foil Sheet.  There are 4 laser cut overlays in the kit, they are white on one side and Pretty Peacock on the other.  I decided to use the white side to coordinate with the piece of Designer Series Paper from the paper pack in the kit, also because I used a Pretty Peacock card base.  

I stamped the blossom image twice using Saddle Brown StazOn and die cut.   These two pieces I have layered on top of a piece of Copper Trim that I teased apart and then added some Copper Foil leaves that were cut using the leaf die from the kit.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set that was stamped on one of the die-cut accents.  This was adhered to the card front using dimensionals.

One of the cute little copper bees from the kit was added to finish.

For the inside of the card the blossom image was stamped using Saddle Brown StazOn.

Botanical Prints Product Medley

Tuesday Challenge #21

Hi everyone, sharing this week's Tuesday Challenge card.  This week has just flown by, I have been extra, extra busy at work with the end of the financial year.  A lot of work to be done is so little time.  

My stamp set of choice this week is Sea of Textures.  It has been awhile since I have used this stamp set and the coordinating Under the Sea dies.

I have kept my design on the clean side with some basic stamping and die cutting.  I did consider the idea of doing a technique for the background but decided against it.  I really like the fresh clean look of this card.

The background sea grass is stamp with one of the new In-colours, Pretty Peacock.  I have done 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping to get the different shades of the same colour.  This is a favourite basic stamping technique that gives variation in the colour using the same ink pad.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.  This stamp set has some great fonts and various birthday wording, just perfect!

Tuesday Challenge #21

Painted Seasons

Hi everyone, sharing two of the projects the ladies made in today's class using the Painted Season Designer Series Paper and the Painted Seasons stamp set which are part of the current Sale-a-bration Promotion along with the Four Seasons Framelits that you can purchase separately.

I love this gorgeous Designer Series Paper and I have used Poppy Parade as the card and bag base as it coordinated perfectly.

To make the card you will need:

Measurements

Poppy Parade Card Base

Whisper White cardstock 10cm x 14.3cm (for the inside)

Early Espresso cardstock 6.7cm x 13.1cm

Early Espresso cardstock 5.5cm x 10.5cm

DSP (large floral) 6.3cm x 12.7cm

DSP 5.1cm x 10.1cm

Early Espresso cardstock 9cm x 9cm for Scalloped Square

Whisper White cardstock 7.5cm x 7.5cm for Stitched Shape Square

Whisper White cardstock for the flowers and leaves

Technique - Card

Fold card base.

Ink up the flower stamp with Poppy Parade ink, stamp off, and then add Early Espresso ink using a sponge dauber and then stamp on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Stamp 3 flowers – 2 for the card and 1 for the little bag.  Cut out using the matching die.

Stamp the leaf image 6 times using Call Me Clover ink, stamping off – 4 for the card and 2 or the little bag.  Cut out using the matching dies.

Adhere the DSP to the Early Espresso mats and adhere to the card front. 

Die cut the Early Espresso Scalloped Square and the Stitched Shape Square.  You can stamp the sentiment before you die cut or after. Adhere these together and adhere to the card front using dimensionals.  Arrange the flower and leaves, adhering the flower using dimensionals.  The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.

For the inside adhere the flower image and the two leaf images to the bottom right corner and adhere to the card inside.

To make the bag you will need:

Measurements

I have used imperial measures for the bag as I find it easier for all the scoring and cutting.

Cut a piece of Poppy Parade cardstock 8 ¾” x 4 ¼” (If you cut the 4 ¼” cut at 10.5cm instead you will get two bags from one piece of A4 cardstock, there is a slight difference in measurement however it does not matter).

DSP 3” x 3”

Technique – Bag

Take the piece of cardstock and

• Score on the long edge at 3 1/8”, 4 1/8”, 7 ¼” and 8 ¼”
• Score on the shore edge at 1”

Cut as per the diagram.  DO NOT ADHERE TOGETHER AT THIS STAGE

Adhere the DSP to the front and back of the bag.

Before making up the bag base, cut two circles from Poppy Parade cardstock using the second largest Stitched Shaped Circle Framelit.  Adhere these in place on the DSP, making sure to only adhere half the circle in place.

Take the 1 5/8” circle from the Layering Circle Framelits and cut out the centre of the circles creating the handles on the bag.

Adhere the sides and bottom of the bag in place.  Add the flower and leaves to finish.
