Happy Birthday

Hi everyone, sharing the cards I made using the So Saffron coloured patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Subtles Desinger Series Paper Assortment.  I only had two sheets of this Designer Series Paper so I cut them into 2" x 3" pieces and made 12 cards.

I used the Pretty Pillowbox Dies for the small flowers and the sentiment die cut.  The leaves were made using the Bough Punch and Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  I just cut the leaves down fit.

The two Basic Black strips were cut at 10.5cm x 1cm.

The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

Let's Set Sail

Hi everyone, sharing the cards I made using the Balmy Blue coloured patterned paper from the 6" x 6" Subtles Desinger Series Paper Assortment.  I have been on a mission to use up this paper pack, making cards for our Cancer Council Relay for Life Team fundraising efforts at work and also for the Nursing Home that took such great care of my Mum.

I used the Let's Set Sail stamp set and the matching Sailboat Builder punch on these cards.  The circle is from the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  The water was stamped with Balmy Blue ink, the sails and the birds with Night of Navy ink and the boat with Crumb Cake ink.

The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moment stamp set which was stamped with Night of Navy ink and die cut with the small rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

I made 12 cards from the 4 sheets of pattern paper.  I cut them into 10.5cm x 5cm pieces, getting 3 pieces from each sheet.  The long strip leftover I used to decorate the inside of the cards.

I added some Night of Navy Enamel Dot Essentials to finish the cards.

I hope you enjoyed these cards.

Forever Fern

Hi everyone, I am still working my way through the Subtles 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Assortment.  These cards use the Forever Fern stamp set and the matching Forever Flourishing Dies.  The sentment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.

I have used the 4 sheets of Soft Sea Foam patterned paper from the pack.  I cut each piece into 1 1/2" inch strips, ending up with 16 strips.  I cut these stips to the length of my card.  I made 16 of these cards.

I will be taking some of these to work for our Council Council Relay for Life Team fundraising and the others I will take to the Nursing Home that took such great care of my Mum.

I hope you enjoyed this project.

95 Cards - All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack

Hi everyone, sharing the cards I made using the All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack.  I used the entire paper pack making 95 cards.  This took be about 72 hours which includes finding the sketches I used and also working out some cards that I designed myself to use up the smaller pieces of patterned paper.  Sometimes deciding what to do takes up the most time, lol.

This is what 95 cards look like, they are in piles where the cards are the same.

To make it a bit easier for myself I decided to use a colour scheme of Gray Granite, Basic Black and Basic White.  I also kept the stamp sets, dies and punches the same through out the cards.  The stamp sets I used are Biggest Wish, Art Gallery, Daisy Lane, Celebrating You and Peaceful Moments.  The dies and punches I used are Painted Label Dies, Penned Flowers Dies, Layering Circle Dies, Floral Gallery Dies, Stitched Stars Dies, Basic Border Dies, Bough Punch, Medium Daisy Punch and Banners Pick a Punch.

The first 6 cards are mini slimline cards.  I really enjoyed making these sized cards and they were great to use the small strips and pieces of patterned paper.   Where the patterned paper was showing I used small off cuts, no need to worry about putting patterned paper where it was going to be covered up.  A great way to use up the small pieces of paper.

The first two cards are my designs.  I made two each of these cards, just changing out the patterned paper to get the best use out of the remaining strips and small pieces.

For this next card I used Mojo Monday Sketch #275.  I just left out the strip that was going across the card and I used a rectangle instead of a square on one of the pieces.  I made two of these cards

This next card also uses a Mojo Monday Sketch, #552.  I made two of these cards.

These next two card layouts I cased off Call Me Crafty Al who does a Sheetload of Cards each month.  I have become addicted to watching her on Youtube.  This is where I first came across the mini slimline cards.  I made two of this design

and I made 4 of this design.

This next card uses Sketch CCMC685 from Create with Connie and Mary. I cased this card from Loritamariecrafts.  I few small changes but the bulk of the card design I cased.  There is nothing wrong with getting a little inspirational help along the way, right!  I made six of these cards.

This next card just came together when I was playing around with some small strips of patterned paper.  I made 4 of these cards.

This card is a great masculine card.  It uses Mojo Monday Sketch #406. I made 4 of these cards.

I must really like Mojo Monday sketches, lol.  This card uses Mojo Monday Sketch #491.  I made two of these cards.

I made four of the next card using Freshly Made Sketches #207.  This card layout is great to use up the small strips and pieces of patterned paper.

I am sure that there is a card sketch owner out there somewhere who designed this one, but it came together when I was playing around with how to get the best out of a 6" x 6" piece of patterned paper.  I made 4 of this card design.

Same design just different embellishments and finishes.  I made four of this card.

I think that this next card sketch is from Just Add Ink.  I have used this sketch before but could not find a reference to where I found it.  I know that I did not desing the card sketch, but how I used the sketch is my creation.  I made 4 of these cards.

Again I am sure that there is a card sketch out there somewhere but I put this one together trying to use up the small pieces I had left.  This was actually my third last card I made.  I made two of these cards.

I made three of this card design using the Mojo Monday Sketch #440.

Using the same Mojo Monday Sketch #440 I made six of the next card.

This next card uses a card sketch from My Favourite Things #261.  I made two of these cards.

Another card sketch cased from Call Me Crafty Al.

I know that this next card sketch is a Mojo Monday Sketch but I forgot to write the number down and now I cannot find it.  I made two of these cards.

Same sketch as above, just a different colour way.  I made two of these cards.

This one is totally my design, created using up all the small left over pieces.  I only made one of this card.

The next three cards are made using the Cut and Shuffle technique.  I made six cards in total, two of each colour design.  I am pretty sure that I originally found this idea on Call Me Crafty Al Youtube channel.

Another Call Me Crafty Al design.  I made two of these cards.

I made three of the next card using the Create with Connie and Mary Sketch CCMC709.  This card sketch is a great way to use 3" x 2" pieces of patterned paper.

I have no idea who created this card sketch.  I have seen a lot of cards on Pinterest with this layout but no reference to where it originated from.  So if it is your design, thank you so much as I just love it.  Great for masculine cards.

I made six cards this colour way

and four cards this colour way.

I am getting down to the last little bits of patterned paper with this card.  This is the second last card I made using 1" squares of patterned paper.  I made three of these cards, all with different patterns on the paper.

This is my last card design, I made two of these cards.

And this is the small pile of pattern paper pieces I had left.  They were so small I could not do anything with them.

I hope you enjoyed all thes cards made using the All Together 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

Saying Goodbye to Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee

Hi everyone, sharing a suite of cards I made using the colours Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee from the 2020-2022 In Color Designer Series Paper Pack.  These are two of the colours in that are retiring so I thought I would give them a little send off.

I actually had a lot of strips and small left over pieces from previous projects so I challenged myself on how to use these and this is what I came up with.

This first card uses strips cut at 10cm x 1.5cm, I had a lot of strips this width so I made 6 of these cards with the strips I had.  They will be going into the card stash for sales at work for the Cancer Council of WA.

This card uses strips of various widths, it did not matter what size they were.  I have added strips of Basic Black Cardstock which makes the Cinnamon Cider and Bumble pop on the Basic White card base.

This card uses two pieces of Designer Series Paper cut at 3.6cm x 11.8cm.  I cut the top portion at 5cm and then adhered the top pieces to the oppostie bottom pieces.  The Basic Black strip with the flagged ends hides the join line.  This was card sketch that I saw on Pinterest, however I could not find the originating designer of the sketch to give due credit, so to the person who created this sketch thank you.

This card uses strips of Designer Series Paper and Basic Black Cardstock cut at 1cm widths.  These were adhered to a piece of Basic White Cardstock which was then matted onto a piece of Basic Black Cardstock.

How many ways are there to use the 1cm width strips of Designer Series Paper?  A lot apparently, lol.

This is the final card using the 1cm strips adhered in a random patchwork effect.

I made the sentiment circles all the same, this made making these cards a lot easier.  I used the Painted Label Dies, Layering Circle Dies and the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.  I added some Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to finish.

Hope you enjoyed these projects.

Hand Penned Memories & More Cards

Hi everyone, sharing some cards made using the Hand Penned Memories & More Card Pack.  These card packs are great for card making as well as memory keeping.

These are sketches that I have shared before.  I find card making a lot easier if I use a card sketch.  I have a small file that I keep the sketches in along with all the cutting measurements for the pieces.

I decided to make the same sentiment panel using the Peaceful Moments stamp set, the Layering Circle Dies and the Hanned Penned Dies.

I just changed up the ribbons and embellishments I used.

Birthday Peach

Hi everyone, sharing another card using products from You're a Peach.

Sometimes I find some of the pattern paper a bit overwhelming and have difficulty using a large piece of it on a project.  To overcome this I have found if I use a small piece of it and other coordinating patterns in the pack that I get a result that is more pleasing to my eye.

I find card sketches are a great resource to help design your cards, this card sketch is Mojo#552 design by Julie Tilman.

Another bonus of using your patterned paper like this is that you get more cards out of your paper.

With Deepest Sympathy

Hi everyone, sharing a Sympathy card I made using the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I cut the 30.5cm x 30.5 cm (12" x 12") piece of patterned paper into two horizontal strips 11.3cm x 30.5cm.  I then cut these into 7.5cm x 11.3cm pieces, you will have 8 pieces.  The 6.1cm x 30.5cm strip left over was cut into 8 pieces, 10cm x 1.5cm which I used to decorate the inside of the card.

The card base is Basic Gray with the mats being cut at:
  • Basic Black mat 9.5cm x 13.3cm
  • Very Vanilla mat 9cm x 12.8cm
  • Basic Black mat 8cm x 11.8cm (the designer series paper is adhered to this piece)
This is a very simply card to make.  I have used the Peaceful Moments stamp set again with  the sentiment panel being die cut using the Pierced Blooms dies. I added some Smoky Slate and Vellum die cut leaves also made using the Pierced Blooms dies.

A few pearls were added to the sentiment panel to finish.
