Tuesday Challenge #22

Hi everyone, I cannot believe that it is week 22 of my Tuesday Challenge.  This week I have made a quick and easy Thank You card using the Accented Blooms and the Artisan Textures stamp sets.

I have used one of the Note cards and stamped the background image from the Artisan Textures stamp set using Mint Macaron ink.

A piece of Garden Green cardstock 1 1/2" wide and a piece of the Garden Lane Designer Series Paper 2" wide were punched using the Triple Banner Punch and then layered on top of each other.

Three sets of leaves were punched from Garden Green cardstock using the Leaf Punch and two sets of Vellum Sprigs were punched using the Sprig Punch.

The Thank You image from the Accented Blooms stamp set was stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Garden Green ink and then punch out using the Tailored Tag punch.

The leaves, sprigs and Thank You tag were all layered together on the piece of Garden Lane Designer Series Paper and adhered to the card front.

I really enjoyed making this card as it used only punches to create all the design elements.  Perfect for when you need to make a quick Thank You card.

Thank You Card & Gift Basket

Hi everyone, sharing one of the projects the ladies made at my card class today.

I love this paper from the Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper pack and I have been hording it.  I knew I wanted to make something a little bit special with it for my class so I could share this gorgeous paper, what a shame to keep it hidden away in the cupboard.

I have created a little 'Thank You' basket with hand lotion, lip balm and soap as a gift and a matching card.  The little basket I found on Pinterest, don't you just love Pinterest.  I have no idea who first created this little basket as there are so many variations of it on Pinterest but a big thank you to the creative person who did.  The size of the basket was a little small for my project so I adjusted the size.  The measurements for this basket are:
  • Cardstock cut at 7" x 7"
  • Score at 1/2", 2 1/4", 4 3/4" & 6 1/2" on one edge, turn and do the same scoring on the other edge.
  • DSP 7 pieces cut at 6" x 5/8"
The basket comes together quite easy and is quick to make.  I added some of the Very Vanilla Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the top of my basket and just tied a bow.  I did not want to over embellish the basket as I wanted to showcase the paper.

The stamp set I have used on the card is Accented Blooms with the coordinating Tailored Tag Punch.  The leaves behind the sentiment were cut using the Wonderful Floral dies and the vellum leaves punched out using the Leaf Punch.

Group Night Swap

Hi everyone, sharing my swap that I made for our Stamparoos Group Night tonight.

I have used the Accented Blooms stamp set which I coloured using the Watercolor Pencils and an Aquapainter.

The colour Rich Razzleberry goes perfectly with Pineapple Punch one of the new 2018-2020 In-colors.

The Designer Series Paper is from the 2018-2020 In-color Paper Pack and the ribbon behind the centre panel is the gorgeous Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon.  A tip for the ribbon is that you do not need a piece that goes across the width of your card, as you only see the two end pieces, so you only need to attach a small piece either side of the panel.  This way you do not waste the ribbon.

Watercolouring with Reinkers

You know how I said earlier in the week that I was hopeless at watercolouring with ink pads and reinkers, well a friend convinced me to have a go with the reinkers with an embossed image.

I was told that the ink will stay inside the lines, yeah right!  I still managed to get some outside the lines.   I gold embossed the image from the Accented Blooms stamp set and coloured with Lovely Lipstick, Mossy Meadow, Pineapple Punch and Petal Pink.  The colour is certainly more vibrant using the reinkers than the watercolour pencils.

The card base is Granny Apple Green which I have teamed with the Lovely Lipstick Designer Series Paper from the 2018-2020 In-color Paper Pack.  I love this colour combination with a touch of gold.

Accented Blooms

Does water colouring scare you and put you off buying certain stamp sets?

I have never really mastered the art of water colouring, and I am absolutely hopeless using the stamp pads and re-inkers. However, I do have some success with the Watercolor Pencils.  Along with an Aquapainter they make it so easy to colour the images.

This is my attempt at water colouring.  I am no expert, and I have no idea about shading and where the light is coming from etc etc (that is enough to scare many people off even having a go) but I like the pretty look of the finished project.

So get out those Watercolor pencils from your stash (I know that you have them) and give it a go.

2018-2020 In-colors

After I posted my 'It's a Beautiful Day' card 2 days ago I had a thought about making another 4 cards using the same sketch to show the gorgeous 2018-2020 In-colors.

Call Me Clover, what a beautiful vibrant green.  I have teamed this colour with the Rooted in Nature stamp set and the matching Nature's Roots Framelits.   Notice the silver metal leaf, this is from the new Leaves Trinkets.

Pineapple Punch makes you think of beautiful spring day.  I have teamed this colour with the Painted Glass stamp set and the Stained Glass Thinlits.  The butterflies were coloured using the Daffodil Delight Dark and Light Stampin' Blends.

Blueberry Bushel is a perfect colour for masculine cards.  I have teamed this colour with the Lift Me Up stamp set and the Up & Away Thinlits.

Grapefruit Grove is perfect for making very pretty cards.  I have teamed this colour with the Accented Blooms stamp set, Stitched Labels Fraemlits and the Tailored Tag Punch and Leaf Punch.

I have used the Stitched Labels Framelits on all the cards to create the stitched border on the cardstock strip on top of the Designer Series Paper (I know that I am going to be using this Framelits set a lot).
