Wine Bottle Sleeves

When I watched the video by Linda Parker on how to make these amazing wine bottle sleeves I just had to try it.  You can see Linda's video's here.  Linda is a very talented lady who shares her creativity with us, which makes us some very lucky paper crafters.

I made some with a Christmas theme using Linda's measurements, what an amazing gift for Christmas.

When I visited the bottle shop to get some wine for these great little gifts I found the large and little bottles of wine which fit Linda's measurements, I made my Christmas gifts using these measurements.

I also spied a little bottle of Yellow Glen which was slightly larger than the little bottle of wine.  I purchased this thinking that the sleeve would still fit, well it did not.  So off to the work bench to work out the measurements etc.  I nailed it on the second go (I scored the wrong side the first go).

To make the wine bottle sleeve to fit the mini Yellow Glen bottle you will need a piece of cardstock 7 1/8" x 7 3/4".  Score on the 7 3/4" edge at 3/8", 1 5/8", 2 7/8", 4 1/8", 5 3/8" and 6 5/8".  Score the 7 1/8" edge at 1 3/8" each end.  The Designer Series Paper strips measure 1" x 4 1/8" and you will need a 1 3/4" circle for the base.  Follow Linda's tutorial to make the actual sleeve.

I made the second set of wine bottle sleeves using a Smoky Slate, Silver and Whisper White colour theme.  These would be great gift for a special occasion or a hostess gift for dinner or party.

Thank you for visiting.

Silent Night

Hi everyone, with the retired list out for the Holiday Catalogue I decided to make my card for the Mojo Monday challenge using some of the terrific products that will no longer be available to purchase after 4 January 2016.  Remember that these items are only available while there is still stock, so if the product sells out then it will no longer be available to purchase.   A list of the retiring items can be found here.

It is a great sketch this week at Mojo Monday and I have gone for a Christmas theme as it is that time of the year.

The only products not retiring that I have use on my card are the cardstock and the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

A Bit of "Go Wild"

Hi everyone, sharing with you cards I have made using the "Go Wild" Designer Series Paper Stack.   Stampin' Up were so generous at the Onstage events held 13-15 November 2015 and I was lucky enough to attend the Perth Onstage Local Event where all attendees were given a free pack of this paper.

It is pretty easy to make cards for all the girls in our lives, but when it comes to the boys sometimes we get a bit stuck. So I decided to give myself a little challenge using the "Go Wild" Designer Series Paper Stack and the "Guy Greetings" stamp set.  This is what I came up with.

Sneak Peak - Bag in a Box

Hi everyone, I showed this Bag in a Box project during my presentation at the OnStage Local event in Perth and was asked how I made it.

I promised everyone that I would post the instructions and a picture of the bag.  This bag has been around for while and I am not sure where I first found out how to put the basic bag together, so apologies for not giving credit where it is due.  This is another sneak peak of the "It's My Party" suite of products.

12 x 12 Basic Black Cardstock
12 x 12 Designer Series Paper (DSP)
Candy Dots Brad Bases
It's My Party Enamel Dots
Stick and Tear Tape or Fast Fuse
Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
1/16” Hand Held Circle Punch
Bone Folder

Cut DSP 3 ½” X 12”
Cut 3 strips cardstock ½” x 12”
Cut 2 strips cardstock ½” x 6”
Cut 1 piece cardstock 2 ½” x 5 ¼”

Score the 2 ½” x 5 ¼” piece of cardstock at ½” on all sides.  Snip on the score line on the long side to the ½” score line.

Fold up the score lines and burnish with the bone folder.

Put a little glue on each tab and adhere to the outside of the box, these tabs will be covered with the DSP and it gives a neat finish to the inside of your gift bag.  You should now have a box base.

Put double sided tape along the bottom of the DSP piece, on one side only.

Starting in the middle of one long side of the box base, adhere the DSP to the box base by gently folding the DPS around the box base.  Do not crease the side edges of the DSP as you want an oval shape to the bag, but you will need to gently crease the corners where the DSP is attached to the box base to get a neat finish.  Adhere the two ends of the DSP together, this forms the body of the bag.

Put double sided tape on all 3 strips ½” x 12”.  Adhere one strip to the bottom of the bag and one at the top (on the outside of the bag), starting at the join on the DSP so all the joins are on the one side (this will be the back of your bag).

Using the 1/16” hole punch make two holes on each side of the bag at the top making sure that the holes are on the cardstock strip.  Try to make these evenly spaced.  Punch a hole each end of the handle strips ½” x 6”.  Using Candy Dot Brad Base attach the handles making sure that  the handle ends are on the inside of the bag.  Adhere the final strip ½” x 12” cardstock to the inside at the top, this covers the brad pins and gives a neat finish to your bag.  Put the It's My Party Enamel Dots on the Candy Dot Brad Bases.

The rest of the bag you can then decorate as you like.  I used the "YAY Presents" image, stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and coloured using the Stampin' Write Markers Melon Mambo, Mint Macaron and Crushed Curry along with the Ballon image punched out using the coordinating punch.

On Stage Local - Perth

Hi everyone, today I am showing you some of the cards and projects that I made for presentation at the On Stage Local - Perth.

I was lucky enough to be invited to present the "It's My Party" suite of products at the On Stage Local event in Perth.  We had a terrific day catching up with old friends and making some new friends as well.  Stampin' Up have excelled with the range of products being released and when the display boards with the new products were unveiled just before lunch, it was difficult to decide whether I wanted to feed my belly or go and take a look at all the new goodies.

So here are some sneak peaks at what is coming your way with the new Occasions Catalogue available from 5 January 2016. This amazing suite has been created just for birthdays, with the bold bright imagery of the Designer Series Paper Stack, "Party Wishes" stamp set and coordinating with the "Party Punch Pack" perfect for creating cards and gift packaging.  I can also picture some bunting made using these papers, it would look amazing.  The suite also has coordinating bakers twine, enamel dots, washi tape and an embossing folder.

I would like to thank Stampin' Up for giving me the opportunity to present the "It's My Party" suite.  I had a great day.

You Make My Heart Smile....

Hi everyone, just sharing my card for the Mojo Monday challenge this week.

I have used the "Timeless Elegance" Designer Series Paper with the "Timeless Love" stamp set with a colour scheme of Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla.

The flowers were made using the "Petite Petals" punch and the "Itty Bitty Accent"s punch pack, finished with some of the metal rimmed pearls for the centres.
