Stash Busting Saturday - Shining Christmas 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper

Hi everyone, I am starting a new 'Stash Busting Saturday' show and tell where I have selected some Designer Series Paper, ribbons and other embellishments and made a heap of cards.  I thought that this would be one way of me getting through my stash of Designer Series Paper, ribbons and other embellishments instead of just hoarding them.  I have so much Designer Series Paper it is not funny and I thought that this would be a good way to get me motivated to start using it.

I make cards for sale at my work with the proceeds going towards my workplace Cancer Council Relay for Life Team's fundraising efforts.  I also make cards and donate them to the Nursing Home who took such great care of my Mum before she passed away.

I selected the two sheets of Christmas Tree paper from the Shining Christmas 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper to make some Christmas Cards for sale at work.  This paper is gorgeous with some Cherry Cobbler foiling on one side and Cherry Cobbler patterned paper on the other side.  You can get this paper from the Online Exclusives, just click the Shop With Me link below.

I made 20 cards, 10 each of the two designs.  I used the Brightest Glow stamp set, Labels Aglow Dies and the Stylish Shapes Dies to create these cards.  The ribbon is retired, but I am using my stash remember.  The Real Red Gems are from the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins.

I hope you enjoyed these first 'Stash Busting Saturday' projects.

October Class Project 3

Hi everyone, sharing the final project from my October Class.  It is an Interlocking Gatefold card using the Traditions of St. Nick 12" x 12" Designer Serie Paper and the Brightest Glow stamp set.

To make this card you will need:

Base - Pebbled Path Cardstock 29.5cm x 14.5cm
Mats - Pebbled Path Cardstock 9.8cm x 4.5cm (3 pieces)
Designer Series Paper - 9.4cm x 4.1cm (3 pieces)
Basic White - 9.4cm x 14cm (for card inside)
Designer Series Paper - 9.4cm x 1.2cm (for card inside)
Extra cardstock for die cutting and stamping sentiment and embellishments

Technique

1.    Score base card at 4.95cm and 9.8cm at each end and then zig zag fold each end starting with a Mountain Fold..  Make sure that you burnish these fold lines really well.

2.    Add 2 of the mats to the left side of the card front, one at the top and one at the bottom.  Make sure that the mats are flush with the top, bottom and sides.  Add the last mat to the right side of the card front making sure to centre it between the top and bottom.

3.    Add the Designer Series Paper to the panel.

4.    Die cut the Pebbled Path and Basic White Nested Essential Labels for the front.  Adhere these together using Dimensionals and then adhere to the card front using tape or wet glue.  Make sure to only put adhesive on the centre portion as you do not want adhesive on the top and bottom of this piece as it overhangs the centre panel.

5.    Stamp the sentiment using Pebbled Path ink and punch out using the Double Oval Punch.

6.    Adhere Santa (he was fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper) and the ssentiment oval to the Nested Essential Labels piece using Dimensionals.  Again watch where you put the Dimensionals.

7.    Add a Gold Trim bow to the sentiment oval.

8.    For the inside adhere the strip of Designer Series Paper to the bottom of the Basic White Cardstock piece and then adhere in place.

I hope you enjoyed this project.
