Tuesday Challenge #14

Hi everyone, sharing a little "Country Livin'"for the 14th week of my Tuesday Challenge where I have challenged myself to use a stamp set and other goodies from the Annual Catalogue to create a card or other project.

I have used the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper to create all the layers on my card.  The layout for me card is a sketch from OWH which I really liked as it uses various layers of Designer Series Paper.

To make this card in metric you will need  the following pieces:
  • Basic Black card base
  • Basic Black 10.5cm x 7cm
  • Very Vanilla Stitched Rectangle (4th largest die)
  • DSP 14.3cm x 2.5cm
  • Basic Black 14.3cm x 3cm
  • DSP 12cm x 5.5cm
  • Basic Black 12.5cm x 6cm
  • DSP 14.3cm x 3.8cm
  • DSP 14.3cm x 7.8cm
I stamped the ute image from the Country Livin' stamp set using Black Memento ink.  I did colour the image at first but it was a bit over the top with all the Designer Series Paper and I really like the finished effect of the lined image, so this is what I went with.

This would be a great card for someone just starting out stamping as it is very basic stamping. I am also pretty sure that beginner stampers would be able to handle sticking all the layers together and heat embossing the sentiment before punching it out with the Classic Label Punch.  Hopefully they would get a bit of a WOW factor in creating the card.

A piece of Burlap Ribbon was adhered in place behind the centre panel.  The centre panel was adhere in place using Dimensionals with the sentiment also being popped up using Mini Dimensionals.

For the inside I matted a scrap strip of Designer Series Paper cut at 1cm x 14.3cm onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut at 1.5cm x 14.3cm.  I adhered this to a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock cut at 14.3cm x 10cm and then adhered this piece to the inside of the card.

Happy 12th Birthday

My nephew Will turns 12 today, he is a pretty amazing kid so I made him a special card.

The background was created using an emboss resist technique and Brusho Crystal Colours.  I stamped the Sheet Music image using Versmark ink onto a piece of Watercolour Paper and then heat embossed with White Embossing powder.  I added the Brusho Crystal Colours and then spritz with water.

I had a bit of fun mixing up stamp sets, using an image from this one, a sentiment from this one and a few die cuts.

Amazing You

I have been having a bit of a clean up and trying to use some of the die cuts and other bits and pieces left over from previous projects.  I had to put them into a bigger basket, so I thought it was way past time that I used some of them.

I have teamed the boots from the Country Livin' Stamp set with some Touches of Nature Elements, used a die cut piece of Whisper White, a Gold Glimmer Paper Decorative Ribbon Border, Copper Trim bow with a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  The only new bits I added are the die cut 'amazing' and the word 'YOU'.

Embossed Foil

Hi everyone, in late October I attended a Stamp Camp held by a good friend of mine where I was shown how to do this technique of embossing foil and adding Copper & Gold Embossing Powder along with some Black Stazon ink.

I have used a Kraft card base with a piece of Basic Black cardstock layered on top.  A little Copper Embossing was added to the background of the card, with a silver doily and some silver stars added in keeping with the metallic theme.

Country Livin'

Hi everyone, for today's card I am using some of my left overs from previous projects.  I seem to end up with all these little bits and bobs, especially if I am demonstrating various items for card classes.

The stars were cut using the Stars Framelits and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  I then coloured them with Stampin' Write Markers Delightful Dijon, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake.

The strip of patterned paper is from the Morroccan Designer Series Paper pack with the background stamped using Delightful Dijon ink and the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set and Early Espresso ink and the Timeless Texture stamp set.  The sentiment was made using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.

These Boots Were Made for Walkin' (Or Not as the Case Maybe)!

Hi everyone, do you sometimes wonder what to so with an image in a stamp set?  I had this very problem, I kept looking at the boot image in the Country Livin' stamp set and thinking "How can I use this image".  After watercolouring the guitar image with Soft Suede for another card, I decided to at least stamp and colour the boots (maybe and an idea would evolve).

They sat on my work table for a couple of days looking forlorn, until I had an idea (told you it would come eventually).  When I was cleaning up some of my bits and pieces I found a background I had made using the decorative strip from the Flourish Thinlits and sponging Crumb Cake ink.  I put the two together, with a little bit of the decorative strip, added some flowers (these were also left over from a previous project), a sentiment and some gold sequin.

You Rock

Hi everyone, you know when you start off with an idea for a card and what you finish up with is nothing like the idea you started with. This is what happened to me when I started out designing cards for this months classes.

I had a completely different idea for the stamped background and what I was going to make, it just evolved into a card great for the boys and men in our lives.

The guitar is from the Country Livin' stamp set (watercoloured with Soft Suede), the sentiment from Crazy About You and the background is stamped using the Timeless Textures stamp set.  Colour scheme of Early Espresso, Delightful Dijon, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.

Don't for get the "Bonus Days" promotion currently running from 7-31 July.
