Goodbye & Good Luck

Hi everyone, you know when you have a piece of patterned paper that you just love so much that you cannot cut it up.  This was me with the Copper embossed piece from the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. I finally did it and cut off a piece 8.5cm x 12.8cm for my card front.

I made this card for a work colleague who is leaving us to start a new job, hopefully she will like it.

The flower spray was made using the May Flowers Framelits and the Falling Flowers stamp set.  I have used a colour scheme of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla with a touch of Copper.

The large and small flower images were stamped with Versamark on Early Espresso and heat embossed with the Copper Embossing Powder.  The small flowers I then brushed bleach over to lighten the colour.  I layered the smaller flower on top of the larger flower with a glue dot.

I just created a floral spray using the various leaf images and dies with a little Copper Metallic Thread added to the spray.

The sentiment is from the Greatest Greetings stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla using Early Espresso and then cut it into two pieces which I then layered onto Early Espresso before adhering to my card front.

Jar of Cookies

Hi everyone, how cute are these little cookie jar favours.

I have been playing with the new Everyday Jars Framelits and the Jar of Love stamp set.  I made a little box that fits between two of the large jar images.

Measurements in metric are (imperial are at the bottom of the post):

Cut a piece of Kraft cardstock 13.5cm x 5cm.
Score on the long edge at 4cm, 6cm, 10cm and 12cm.
Score on the short edge at 2cm.

Snip on the lines as shown on the template and burnish all score lines and join the two sides together, the small tab goes on the inside of the box.  Fold the bottom up for form the base of the box. Adhere to the two Jar pieces cut using the Everyday Jar Framelits. I stamped the jar image on the Kraft cardstock using Early Espresso before I cut it out.

I decorated the jar using the small flower images from the Jar of Love stamp set using a colour combination of Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron and Delightful Dijon.  The leaf image was stamped using Emerald Envy.

The patterned paper is from the Moroccan Designer Series Paper pack, I had small scraps from another project which I was able to use for the jar lids.  In fact all the cardstock and patterned paper used on these little favours were scraps left from other projects. What a terrific way to use these small pieces.

The word "Enjoy" is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and was punched out using the Classic Label Punch.  A piece of Basic Black bakers twine was used to close the top of the box.

Imperial Measurements:

Cardstock 2" x 5 1/4"
Score on the long edge at 1 5/8", 2 3/8", 4" and 4 3/4"
Score on the short edge at 3/4"

Life is a Journey...

Hi everyone, sorry for not posting more projects this week but I have been busy designing for my fundraising day on the 9th of July. I have 34 ladies coming on the day, so I have a lot of kits to prep for.

To give myself a little break from making up kits I am playing along with the colour challenge at Can You Case It, red gray, white and black.

CYCI#125

Using the stamp set "One Wild Ride" I cased the catalogue for the centre banner. I love the finished effect which was on a little gift bag.

And do not forget the inside of the card, it just finishes it off.

Love & Affection

Hi everyone, a clean and fresh look for my card today.

I stamped the images from the "Love & Affection" stamp set using Watermelon Wonder for the flowers, Cucumber Crush for the leaves and Sahara Sand for the filler foliage.  I fussy cut the images and arranged them with Silver Metallic thread on a piece of Whisper White cardstock 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" matted onto a piece of Sahara Sand designer series paper 3" x 3".  This was mounted onto the Whisper White card front which was on a Sahara Sand cardbase.  The sentiment is from the "Build a Birthday" stamp set which was stamped with Basic Black Archival ink.  Rhinestones were added to finish the card.

A Touch of Copper

Hi everyone, technique card today using waxed lunch wrap.  This Waxed Resist technique is fun to do with an embossing folder, waxed lunch wrap, Bigshot, iron, Whisper White cardstock, ink and a sponge.

I had forgotten all about this technique, but at a recent Stamp Camp we made a card using this technique.  This is a card that I have designed for my June Class.

Cut a piece of waxed lunch wrap a little larger than your card front. Put this in the embossing folder of your choice, I used "Lovely Lace", and run it through the Bigshot.  Carefully remove the embossed wax lunch wrap and sandwich between two pieces of Whisper White cardstock cut to size for your card front.  Sandwich this between copy paper and using a hot iron (without steam) iron over the sandwich that you have just created until the wax has melted and transferred to the cardstock.  You will get a positive piece and a negative piece of waxed Whisper White, so you can make two cards or keep a piece for later use.  Sponge ink of your choice over the Whisper White cardstock and the design will appear resisting the ink where the wax has transferred.  I used Crumb Cake on my card.

I heat embossed Copper on Whisper White for the flowers from the "Grateful Bunch" stamp set and then coloured them using Peekaboo Peach ink and the Wink of Stella pen.  The matching "Blossom Bunch" punch was used to cut them out.

The stem was heat embossed with Copper on Early Espresso cardstock and fussy cut out.  The sentiment from the "Crazy About You" stamp set was also heat embossed with Copper on Early Espresso cardstock and hand cut out.   The card base is Crumb Cake with a mat of Peekaboo Peach.

Thank You Box of Cards

Hi everyone, sharing one of the projects that I made for my Catalogue Launch Party.

It is a "Box of Cards" with four cards and matching envelopes.  I used the Crumb Cake Note Cards and Envelopes, these are a great alternative for a quick and easy card base and matching envelope.

I stamped the background patterned paper using the Number of Years stamp set.  I am a bit of a "Neutrals" girl, I especially love everything Crumb Cake.   The inks used are Basic Black Archival, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate.

I will be holding a class on 21 August 2016 if you are interested in making this project.  Details can be found here.

Thank you for visiting.
