Hi everyone, sharing a card I made using products from the Sweetest Christmas Suite.
This Gatefold Centre Panel Pop Up Card fold I cased from Dawn Griffith. Dawn used the Hippest Hippo stamp set and Hippo Dies on her card, it is just gorgeous. You can find Dawn's card here.
I love this fold and I thought it went perfectly with the Candy Cane design on one of the cards on page 8 of the Mini Catalogue July-December 2022. I change the centre panel design slightly to fit the design on the centre pop up panel. I die cut the 2nd and 3rd smallest scalloped rectangles from the Scalloped Contour Dies for the centre panel design.
I changed the measurements of the card to fit an A4 piece of cardstock.
Measurements
29.6cm x 10.5cm Real Red cardstock
2.5cm x 18.8cm strip of Real Red cardstock
5 pieces Basic White cardstock 10.1cm x 7cm
4 pieces of Designer Series paper 9.7cm x 6.6cm (2 different patterns)
Basic White cardstock 5.5cm x 9cm (for die cut centre panel)
Real Red cardstock 7.5cm x 105cm (for die cut centre panel)
Scraps of Basic White for stamping
Technique
Score the card base on the 29.6cm edge at 7.4cm, 14.8cm and 22.2cm. Fold and burnish the score lines doing a mountain fold, valley fold and mountain fold.
Score the 2.5cm x 18.8cm strip at 2cm, 7cm and 12cm, fold and burnish all the fold lines making sure that they are all mountain folds. The last end piece is not scored as it depends on the final width of the card so just fold this piece over to create the final fold when you adhere the strip in place at step 6.
Adhere the 4 pieces of Designer Series Paper to the Basic White cardstock mats.
Adhere the other piece of Basic White cardstock 10.1cm x 7cm to the back of the card on one of the panels. This is for your message.
Adhere the two centre pieces of mats and Designer Series Paper in place.
Adhere the 2.5cm x 18.8cm strip in place, making sure that the card is folded flat when you do this. Adhere one end of the strip in place then the other end.
Adhere the other two pieces of mats and Designer Series Paper in place, covering the ends of the strip just adhered in place. You now have the centre panel mechanism in place.
Stamp the two foliage images using Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz ink. Stamp each image 3 times. Die cut.
Die cut the Pool Party and the Garden Green foliage pieces.
Die cut the Candy Canes.
Stamp the sentiment panel using Garden Green and Real Red ink. Die Cut.
Die cut the scalloped edged rectangles, one Real Red and one Basic White. Layer together.
Layer all the foliage pieces, ribbon, candy canes and sentiment in place and then adhere to the panel strip using dimensionals.
Hope you enjoyed this project.
