Sailing Home - JDRF Card 4

Hi everyone, sharing card number four from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation fundraiser held last Saturday.

This card uses the Sailing Home stamp set and the matching Smooth Sailing dies.

What to do when you wanted a matching piece of Designer Series Paper, make your own of course.  I stamped a piece of 12" x 12" piece of Whisper White cardstock with some of the images from the Sailing Home stamp set.  I used Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake and Misty Moonlight inks to stamp the compass, rope and anchor images.

The Misty Moonlight Designer Series Paper is from the 2020-2022 In-colors paper pack.

The Designer Series Paper was cut at

  • Stamped piece - 12.8cm x 5.1cm
  • Misty Moonlight - 10.2cm x 5.1cm
The Misty Moonlight mats were all cut at 0.4cm larger.

A piece of Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 9.5cm x 6.5cm and embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder was adhered to the Thick Basic White card base.  Adhere the pieces of Designer Series Paper to the mats and then adhere these to the card front.  Take note to use scraps of cardstock to even out the layers between the pieces.

A large circle from the Layering Circle Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock.  The birds were stamped on the circle using Misty Moonlight ink, make sure that you position these to the top right corner of the circle to allow room for the other elements.  Adhere the White Baker's Twine to the circle.

Stamp the lighthouse using Crumb Cake ink and colour using a Blender Pen before die cutting.  Stamp the anchor using Misty Moonlight ink and die cut. Die cut a ship's wheel from Misty Moonlight cardstock, the rope and sentiment from Crumb Cake cardstock.

Arrange and adhere all the elements to the card front.

For the inside of the card, stamp the anchor on the bottom right corner on a piece of Basic White cardstock cut at 9.5cm x 13.8cm using Misty Moonlight ink.  Adhere this to a Misty Moonlight mat cut at 10cm x 14.3cm and adhere to the card inside.
