Roses for Mother's Day

Happy Easter everyone, my card today is not in anyway related to Easter but another happy event coming in May, Mother's Day.

I have used the Climbing Roses stamp set and the coordinating Rose Trellis Thinlits along with the Delicate Lace Edgelits, Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and the Classic Label Punch.

The image I coloured with Watercolor Pencils Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Granny Apple Green and an Aqua Painter.

The base card is Petal Pink as it goes so well with the colours of the roses.  You could use a piece of Designer Series Paper on the bottom of the card as an alternative.

This card will be going to work for the cards that I sell for our Cancer Council Relay for Life Team.  I have made so many Mother's Day cards lately and as fast as I put them in the box for sale they are sold.  It is great that everyone at work supports our fundraising activities for such a great cause.

Climbing Roses

Hi everyone, sharing another card made using the Climbing Roses stamp set and the Rose Trellis Thinlits.  I really enjoyed using this stamp set and thinlits when I made my card for the challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches, so while I had it out on my craft table I made another card.

Again I coloured with the Lovely Lipstick (dark and light) and Old Olive (dark and light) Stampin' Blends.  I started out with just a White cardbase, the coloured floral image and the Glitter Enamel Dots, and of course the sentiment.

The card was a bit bland and I toyed with the idea of putting a background behind the image but I decided to add a 1/2" strip of Lovely Lipstick Designer Series Paper on the left edge which was just perfect.

The best bit about the 1/2" strip is that you can get 12 cards from the one 6" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper.  This is ideal for me as I make cards for work as part of our fundraising efforts for our Cancer Council Relay for Life Team.

Freshly Made Sketches #382

Hi everyone, I am playing along with the sketch challenge this week at Freshly Made Sketches.

I have used the Climbing Roses stamp set and the Rose Trellis Thinlits for my card.  I love the large floral image which is just perfect for colouring.  The image was coloured with the Stampin' Blends colours Lovely Lipstick (dark and light) and Old Olive (dark and light), it adds quite a pop of colour to my card which I love.

The background was stamped using Crumb Cake ink and the trellis image from the stamp set.  On top of this I adhered a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with a piece of Whisper White on top of this.

The coloured floral piece was adhere on top of the centre panel using dimensionals with some Glitter Enamel Dots added as an extra embellishment.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp set that was White heat embossed on a piece of Basic Black cardstock and punched out using the Classic Label Punch.

I kept this card quite simple, with just basic background stamping and colouring.
