Hi everyone, sharing one of the projects the ladies are making in class today. It is my first Christmas Project for the season, I cannot believe that I am making Christmas Projects already.
This is a great quick and easy project to make, it took me a while as I had a few false starts with measurements, but once that was all sorted out it came together really quickly.
I have used the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper, Real Red and Very Vanilla cardstock, Gold Foil Sheet and the Leaf Ribbon on this project.
To make this project you will need:
- Cardstock 16.5cm x 15cm
- Cut 2 Stitched Nested Labels using 3rd largest die
- Cut 2 Designer Series Paper Stitched Nested Labels using the 4th largest die
- Cut 2 pieces Designer Series Paper 4.5cm x 4.5cm
- Cut a piece of cardstock 21cm x 1.5cm (handle)
- Very Vanilla for Stitched Shaped Circle using 2nd smallest die
- Gold Foil Sheet for the Starburst Circle
Technique
Score the 16.5cm x 15cm
piece of cardstock at 5cm on all four sides.
Snip on the lines as
indicated in the picture. You may want
to snip off a small section of the flap that you are folding in so it is not as
bulky. Adhere the sides together to form
the box base.
Adhere the Designer
Series Paper Stitched Nested Labels to the cardstock Stitched Nested Labels and
adhere these to the box sides.
Add the handle and
staple in place, take note that the staple closing fold is on the outside of
the box as this is covered by the Designer Series Paper. Adhere the 4.5cm x 4.5cm pieces of Designer
Series Paper to the sides of the box.
Stamp the image using
Real Red ink on the piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using the
Stitched Shaped Circle. Punch out a Starburst Circle from the Gold Foil Sheet using the large Starburst Circle
Punch. Adhere these together and then
make a small hole in the top to thread a piece of Linen Thread through so that
you can tie it to the Gussetted Cellophane 7.6cm x 15.2cm bag, with your treats of choice inside (I have Minities in my bag), which has been tied with a piece of
Leaf Ribbon.
Do you want a larger basket, no problems!
For a larger size basket cut a piece of cardstock 20cm x 18cm and score on all four sides at 6cm. Use the largest and 2nd largest Stitched Nested Label dies and cut the handle at 21cm x 2cm. The Designer Series Paper for the box sides is cut at 5.5cm x 5.5cm. Just follow the same directions for the smaller basket to put it together. This size basket would be great for homemade shortbread or other Christmas goodies that you make.
You could personalize these little baskets with people's names and have them as place settings for your festive celebrations.
Thank you for visiting.
