Sending a Birthday Note

I cased the background for this card from Brandy Cox .  I love the use of the double layers of cardstock and the colours that Brandy used to create a colourful background.

For my card I used the Postcard Pals stamp set and I coloured the image using the Stampin' Blends.  The Watercolor Pencils work just as great to colour the image.

I made another card, perfect for the boys, using different size pieces of cardstock and in different shades of blue.  The image was coloured using the Watercolor Pencils.

Rocklea Road Box

Hi everyone, sharing a little Christmas box I made to fit a 60g bar of Darrell Lea Rocklea Road Chocolate.

I used the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper with Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla cardstock along with the Labels to Love stamp set, Everyday Label Punch, Triple Banner Punch, Sprig Punch and Striped Burlap Trim.  Mossy Meadow and Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Ink pads were used for the stamping.

To make the box you will need the following:

Measurements

Cherry Cobbler cardstock 8 ¼” x 5”
Cherry Cobbler cardstock 7 ¾” x 5 ¼”
Christmas DSP – 2 pieces 5” x 1 5/16”
                            1 piece 5” x 1 13/16”
                            1 piece 5” x ¼”
Gold Foil Sheet 5 ¼” x 1"
Striped Burlap Trim
Mossy Meadow cardstock for Sprigs
Very Vanilla cardstock for Christmas panel
1/2" Cherry Cobbler Circle
Brad

Technique

Score the 8 ¼” x 5” piece of cardstock at 1 ½” in all four sides.  Create a basic box base.

Score the 7 ¾ x 5 ¼ piece of cardstock on the long edge at 1 9/16”, 3 5/8”, 5 316” and 7 ¼” – This piece is the box cover and it wraps around the box base.

Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the box cover, add a brad and then adhere the cover to the box.

Decorate the lid of the box.

Merry Christmas

I just love the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper with the colours of Merry Merlot, Copper, Gray Granite, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Tranquil Tide.  I almost did not want to make the first cut in the sheet of paper.  I had a good think about the design of my card before I started cutting.

I have used the Merry Christmas to All bundle for my card with some of the gorgeous Merry Merlot & Copper Reversible Ribbon and a Star Wire Element.

Tropical Chic

Hi everyone, sharing a little Tropical Chic with you.

I have used a colour scheme of Petal Pink, Gray Granite and Calypso Coral.

The Corrugated Embossed piece of Gray Granite as been distressed by rubbing the White Craft Ink pad over the embossed piece .  It highlights the corrugations a little more.

The two tone effect in the flowers was created by inking up the image with Petal Pink and then Calypso Coral added using a Sponge Dauber before stamping.

The sentiment panel and leaf images were all created using the Tropical Chic stamp set and the matching Tropical Thinlits dies.

Just Add Texture

Hi everyone, I am playing along this week with the Just Add Ink challenge 'Just Add Texture'.

I have used the stamp set Postcard Pals and coloured the image using Watercolor Pencils. The texture part of my card is the embossed piece behind the image which was embossed using the new Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The finished piece of cardstock reminds me of the corrugated iron on the sheds on our farm.

I love the cute images in this stamp set, and they are perfect for colouring either with the Watercolor Pencils or Stampin' Blends.

A Little More Shimmer

Another card using the Shimmer Paint Smooching technique (that is what I am calling it as I have not found a name for it).

This one uses the Champagne Shimmer Paint with the Gray Granite, Balmy Blue and Pool Party re-inkers.

The flower and leaves are from the Falling Flowers stamp set coloured with Watercolor Pencils and cut out using the May Flowers Framelits.
